As you probably know, Olivia and I attended the first trial of the year this past weekend. It was held at the PiM Arts High School. I had only one search each day. I worked really hard, and Mom is quite proud of me, but unfortunately, I didn’t qualify in either of my searches. Masters Interiors is a tough element, but we still had a fun time searching.
Olivia got to be dog in white for Advanced Interiors both days. She had lots of fun doing those searches. Her “real” searches were Excellent Buried and Excellent Interior. Olivia did earn two of the three Q’s she needs for her Excellent Buried Title. Sadly, Mom messed up the third Q because of a misunderstanding. Still, she only needs one more Q to finish that element and she can do it at the next trial that offers Buried hide searches.
She had one Excellent Interior search each day and she did great on both of them! At Excellent Level, there are two rooms with a total of three hides. You have to decide if there are one or two hides in the first room in order to get to search the second room. Olivia had no trouble figuring that out and letting Mom know. She placed fourth in both of her interior searches each day too.
Since Olivia earned her first leg at the AKC Scent Work Trial last fall, she only needed two Q’s for her SIE Title. With her Interior Excellent title she moves up to Interiors Masters and she is already in Exteriors Masters. Our little sister is a smart cookie! We are proud of her earning the first title of 2021 for our family!

As long as we are enjoying what we are doing, that is always the main thing. Madison quit agility because she wasn’t having fun and that is alright.

It is a dog who tests a search for other dogs. The dog normally has to have passed that level already so they are proficient at it. I did really well, and it was free, fun, extra practice.
Way to go, Olivia! You sure do enjoy using that sniffer of yours. I think you are amazing. I am happy Madison had a good time accompany you. Sorry she did not do better. XOXO, Sparkle
I’m very speedy and detailed, but Madison is not real quick and extremely detailed. Since searches have time limits, she needs to speed it up a bit. We both worked hard and had fun and that is most important.
