CongRATulations to me for earning my RATS Barn Hunt Title last Friday! Its been a long road traveled over two and a half years to get the job done. Mom has retired me a few times, and I’ve had so many failures, but Mom refused to completely give up on me.
I finished my RATO, Open Title, in August 2018. In September 2018 I earned one of the needed legs for my Senior Title, in December 2018, the second leg, but then I gave up on it. Mom has been determined to have me finish off my title. I’ve gone to many trials but have not done anything in the ring, so no Q. Recently, Mom found a way to get me motivated. We have practiced with this method for the past month, and tried it at the trial. It worked! I finally got that last leg. Note…the time limit is 3:30. I really pushed it with time!
As for me, I’m super happy to have this project behind me. Whether or not I continue in barn hunt, is still up in the air. I don’t like to work without being paid, and in barn hunt there is no rewarding in the ring which causes me to lose interest in working. For now I’m going to simply enjoy having me RATS Barn Hunt Title.
Mom was so happy that we finally titled, she spoiled me all day on Saturday! We started our day by going to the Three Dog Bakery. I’m the only one of my sisters who had not yet been there. The sign outside on Saturday was perfect for us!
Honestly, the store is overwhelming with all the treats, food, chews, and a lot of other dogs shopping. It’s tough to decide what a girl should get. Mom said I could pick anything in the store. Finally, I decided on a salmon chew. Even though it looks like a rawhide, it is not! It is handmade from wild caught Atlantic salmon, brown rice flour, agar agar, eggs, olive oil, banana powder and pineapple stems. It was super yummy, and I highly recommend these Earth Animal No Hide chews! Mom and I visited Gramma, and I spent a long time working on my yummy chew.
In other Friday trial news, Madison earned another leg towards her RATCH Title, Champion. She now needs two more legs to earn that title. Olivia worked hard and found three of the four rats in each of her searches but no Q’s. We know she will get it next time.
My GBGV Life is happy, so weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
congrats!!! no rewards? that means you will not even get the rats you found?
No, they take them away when I find them, and I get no treat. Bad deal, but Mom brought me some of my raw food to eat when I was finished and back at the car. I had to focus on that.
YAY!!! Huge congratulations!!
Thank you.
I agree,I donβt like to work without getting paid.
For some reason, my sisters are fine with the arrangement, but it gives me a huge lack of motivation.
WOW Bailie, congratulations, we’re thrilled for you and your Mom too!
Mom was really happy and I got lots of special treatment over the weekend, so my efforts were worth it.
OOOOh we would really like to look for rats, but there is not much of that where we are. And at the moment, there is nothing.
That is a bummer. Our sports are pretty much back to normal with all the precautions, but we have lots of trials coming up, thankfully.
Congrats Bailie! I don’t like to work for no reward either. Very proud of and happy for you and your mom!!
I did it for my mom, not for me. Well, I did it because she kept reminding me that if I found the rats there was a bowl of my raw food waiting for me at the car.
Oh, Bailie, I am so proud of you! That title took a long time, and you did good giving it one more try. CongRATulations. XOXO Sparkle
I would have been fine quitting a few years ago, but for Mom I kept showing up, usually not working at all. This time we had an agreement and it worked well for both of us.
Little Madison, you did super as well. Olivia, what happened?XOXO Sparkle
Madison loves barn hunt so much, she does it for free. Olivia is a bit confused by not getting rewards, and she isn’t as into it as she is with scent work or tracking. She will get it next time.
Congratulations, Bailie! I have had those No Hide chews before and they are SuperYummy! Enjoy your treat. You earned it!
It is the first time we have seen them and they sure are tasty!
My grandson needs Bailey at his new house. Can’t believe they just moved in and have rats already.
Now loose rats I would hunt all day. The ones in our trials are in safe containers, so it kind of takes the fun away for me.
Way to go. I know your mom is most proud. We are too.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
Mom is proud, but really relieved because she doesn’t like leaving things unfinished. That one missing leg was making her crazy because she knows I can do it, I just kept choosing not to.
Bailie! You rock! We are so glad that you got your Rats and we are glad you persevered. What an accomplishment! And look at the reward! That chew sounds like something us cats would love too! You picked a great one! We love the photos of you today too. You are one gorgeous dog! Keep being AWESOME and have a marvellously happy day.
Thank you so much. I had my chew at Gramma’s so cat bro Bert never got near it and her kitty never comes out when I visit. I’m happy to have that pressure from my mom off my shoulders!
Yay Bailey! You were strong and brave and made your mom proud. Good for you. You all have a super day.
Thank you. Hope you have had a fun day today too.
WTG Bailie
Those rats best tuck their long tails and run like the wind
Hugs Cecilia
I sure wish they could run, but they are safely tucked into their tubes hidden in the straw. I can only smell, no way to touch them.
Congrats, Bailie!! Way to go, girl. My Mommy wants to take little ol me barn rat hunting, but she doesn’t want to drive 2 hours each way to do it. Grrr. I would love, love, love to do that!! XOX Xena
You did great, Bailie! I say if you want to retire, there are other things to do that you might like. Or just hang out, ya’ know? XOX Lucy
YES! Spoil those pups!
Mom does her best to keep us all spoiled, especially when we do well!
Congrats, Bailie! I am so happy for you and your mom!!!!
It was a long road, but we are both relieved to have that title finally.
Oh, hurray!!!
We are quite happy to have that project finally completed!
Congrats pretty Bailie! Good dog!
Thank you.
Congratulations! That chew looks delicious, if I was a dog, that is. : )
Thank you. I don’t think humans would enjoy such a chew which is good so I don’t have to share.
Woohoo! CongRATulations. Pawsome news for you and Madison. That chew looks mighty tasty and by the sounds of it, well deserved and earned.
I worked a long time for that title and the chew was amazingly good!
Congratulations, Bailie! You sure cut it close but got the job done! We admire that your Mom never gives up!
She finally wore me down! It is nice to have that title accomplished, though.
Wow! Yβall are doing amazing and we are so happy and proud for Bailie!
Thank you, I’m proud of myself.
