I went walking on the Koch Minnesota Trail in Rosemount on Sunday. Mom has heard about it from friends, so we decided to have a look for ourselves. It’s a pretty short trail, and it was a real wet mess. Since Bailie had a mommy and me day on Saturday for her new title, and Olivia got to go tracking Sunday morning, it was my turn for some mommy and me time.
March messiness is still in full swing! The huge parking lot mountain still has to melt. The park and trails will be wet for quite a while it looks like! It is a hilly trail, so there is a lot of water running down the hills too.
Some areas of the trail get a lot of sunshine and the snow is completely gone. It looks more like we took the photo last fall!
Being short means my belly takes on a lot of water from below. I get to be a real mess fast. Mom brought a towel along so she could clean me up a bit before I got back into the car to go home. The remaining snow is super wet too. Behind me are a couple of holding ponds or something. Since we never have been her before, we will have to come back for a look when everything melts.
Sunday was a really windy day which is a good thing because it helps dry up all the water on the trails. The wind also blows my long ears around a lot.
Because the Koch Minnesota Trail isn’t very long, and we walk fast, the whole walk was only a half hour. We saw quite a few people, and a few dogs out walking it. It is a place we will keep in mind for short walks, or if we need a walking place when we are in that area. It’s always fun to get out and find new places to explore!
We are joining our friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard is for their Nature Friday blog hop.
Great Nature Friday post! We hope things dry up and warm up soon, then Mom will take us ‘sploring a bit, too. XOX Xena and Lucy
We just want all the puddles and mud to go away.
Mom loves your low hanging belly!! She was singing, “does your belly hang low does it wobble to and fro!” Haha. I told her there is no way your belly wobbles!!! It looks like that was a good walk and good research for future visits! Have a great day and weekend! your friend Lilly
My ears hang low and wobble to and fro, but my belly is super firm. Mom says I’m like a fur covered concrete block, solid! Happy weekend!
Lovely pictures. We are short so we feel your pain with the messy belly
Short with a furry belly means dirt magnet, right?
I’m glad you had a fun walk and you sure did get those tummy furs wet. Enjoy your weekend!!!
They were soaking wet and dirty!
Madison…and Mom that was a fun trek…I bet you both had some seriously damp feets and undercarriage furs!!
I know this wasn’t a points trek/workout but had it been, I’d give you extra points for those fantastic poses.
Hugs Cecilia
Sometimes it isn’t about a real hiking kind of walk, just having fun together and doing some photos for relaxing is nice too.
Pretty soon you’re going to be able to go for adventures without getting all messy. Spring is coming. We’re all happy about that. I wish I could have come along with you. I could have loved on you and talked to your mom.
Have a woof woof day and weekend. My best to your siblings and your mom. β₯
Mom likes to go walking with friends for a change up. She talks to us sometimes on our walks, but we never answer back. TGIF!
oh we agree it is a super place for short walks… the pups are entertained and we can enjoy some nice things…
Some nice things like puddles and dirt, right?
That trail does look quite a mess, but nothing wrong with that. Gail ALWAYS keeps a towel in the car to dry me off at the end of a walk. She has this weird thing about not wanting the car all covered in mud…
Happy Nature Friday!
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
Mom has a couple towels in the car, and we have the seat cover, but still I was a real mess. We knew it would happen, so it wasn’t so bad.
A great presentation for Narure Friday. I get my paws wet in the mornings from the dampness is my yard most days. My mom put up a new bird feeder which I do find interesting. It has great smells around it. Have a pawsome weekend. XOXO, Sparkle
I wonder if you will get squirrels at the feeder? We use our bird feeders to attract squirrels.
You have so many, many wonderful walk-about-spots where you live … lucky pups one and all!
We do. Mom never realized how lucky we are until she started traveling with us and had trouble finding good spots for walks.
You are so lucky that your mom lets you have fun and get messy, Madison. We have too much wall-to-wall carpeting here and mom is a meanie about letting me get too wet and muddy.
Well, Mom doesn’t like a mess in the house, so we get lots of toweling off, and sometimes dunked in the tub if necessary.
It looks like a good place to stretch your legs when you need to!
It is a fun place for a short walk.
It does look pretty, although messy at the moment. Finding new places to explore is fun.
We like to find new places so we don’t get bored with our walks.
Itβs nice to have a short fun walking place. The boysβ bellies are notorious for getting wet.
They too are short like me.
What a nice place to take a walk! We sure hope things dry up for you soon so your belly doesn’t get so wet the next time you decide to go there!
It is getting better, but there is still a lot of slop on the roads and the grass is like a wet sponge.
How nice that you got some special time with your mommy. That trail sure sounds like a nice place; we bet it will be even better when the puddles and stuff dry up so your belly does not get wet. π
It was quite the spring mess, but it will be better the next time we visit.
Gosh! You did get wet! We had a whole lit of snow melt this week and everywhere was so muddy! Cinnamon enjoyed a romp in the back yatd and she was a total Mud Monster! She had to have a bath! Luckily ishas been a little cooler today, so everything is melting a little slower. Did you have to have a bath when you got home? Do you like being towelled off! Cinnamon sure does! We hope your whoile family has a marvellously Happy Day!
I’m really good about being toweled off, but I wouldn’t say I love it. I didn’t need a bath, as the dirt just falls off when it dries and I’m going out again, so there isn’t much of a point to getting all clean. Now it is much better out, but we are supposed to get rain and snow today, so more mess is on the way.
