I took my freshly groomed furs out for a walk on Saturday morning. Friday was a spa day for me and I really needed it! After all the March messiness with melting and a huge rain storm, my furs were a super dirty, hot, mess. No worries because my spa lady is amazing. She got me all cleaned, furs stripped, and fluffed in just a couple hours. Saturday morning I got to go on one of my favorite walks as a reward for being so good at the spa.
It’s true, I am not a fan of getting cleaned up, at least not a fan of the process. I do have to say it does feel really nice once I’m all fixed up again, though. The first day I’m one clean fluff ball. Mom loves it and also says my head furs look like Don King, that boxing promoter guy. I have to agree, from photos she has shown me. The wind just adds to that look, but I’m definitely better looking than that Don guy.
Mom and I took a ninety minute walk to one of my favorite places. She had a feeling I would get all dirty being in the woods. Lucky for us, the temperature was slightly below freezing so I stayed pretty clean. As we got back closer to home the sun was out and the ground was starting to soften, but only my paws got a bit dirty.
The lakes are starting to thaw out around the shoreline now. At night they refreeze with a thin layer of ice. We know not to go on the ice, so there is nothing to worry about. It’s been windy a lot, which dries off the walking paths so they aren’t icy anymore either.
We are in March where the weather is like spring one day and winter the next, so my freshly groomed furs won’t be pristine for long. Mom enjoys them while they last. It snowed all day yesterday, but I remained pretty clean. Friday my sisters are going in for their clean ups. For some reason, they never come out looking fluffed up like I do, but they will look nice and clean for sure. Being clean does make us all happy!
