The carob cake was the center of my birthday party yesterday. Mom ordered it special for me, with my name on it in orange, from our local Three Dog Bakery. They make such scrumptious things, she knew I would just love it, and we all did! It was almost impossible for me not to steal my cake off the table and take off with it!
When Bailie went to the bakery a couple weeks ago, she and Mom chose the carob cake for me. We’ve never really had carob, but Mom loves chocolate and thought we would love carob. They picked out some fun polka dot plates at the party store too. My hat is a special order from Etsy.
As we do with every party, we have to pose for photos and then we get to eat. This cake was a real tough one to wait for. Bailie started licking her chops first! Madison pretended she wasn’t even there so she wouldn’t be tempted.
Since Madison is always so picky, we figured she might not even like the cake. Well, we were all wrong. Suddenly she was sporting her tongue too! I was starting to get frustrated waiting so long for my cake.
Next thing I know, both of my sisters are licking their chops. My heavens, it is my cake and they seem to think they are going to get it all or what?
Eventually, I decided I may as well join the tongue out party. Since I had licked the frosting ahead of time, I knew it was going to be mighty tasty!
Okay, mom! Now we have all sat here, waiting, showed our tongues, now it is time to eat! I may be two, but I decided to have a small temper tantrum anyway. It didn’t last long because Mom decided to put down the camera and finally cut the cake.
Ready, set, dig in! Yummers, this carob cake is super tasty! The most amazing thing is that Madison took her entire piece in her mouth and started eating it all in one bite!
Normally I am the fastest eater in the family, and Bailie is right behind me. Not with this cake! Madison had her piece of cake gone in about thirty seconds. It was crazy amazing!
Bailie and I took our time and really savored the flavors of the cake. I don’t think the bakery knows how to make anything that isn’t fabulous! Look at Bailie’s eyes, she is totally focused!
Madison loved her cake so much she was licking the crumbs right off the tablecloth. This is very unusual behavior for her.
Bailie had a great time at my little party, can you tell by her smile? She has really been into having her photo taken lately.
I had a wonderful party and I absolutely love my cake but I was a bit sad my piece was all gone. I didn’t get any new toys or anything this year. Mom got raw rabbit for us to eat for our meals for something special and my cake. But…the best surprise of all is that we are going on a weekend road trip! I am doing a nose work trial on Saturday, and a tracking test on Sunday. What could be better than that for a sports hound like me? I’m super excited! What a great birthday week I have had, and now an additional three days all about me. I’m one lucky pup and now I am two! Thank you for all the birthday wishes too, GBGV hugs to you all!
