Mom and I took the Minnetonka Trail System through the woods and around some swamps on Saturday. It was a gray day, not raining, but cool, and pretty windy. We had a real nice hour walk and thankfully, it wasn’t muddy. Gramma would not be happy if I came back to her house as a muddy dog.
Although we know we have had a lot of rain, we were surprised at how much water is in the swamp areas. The last time we walked on this path it was the winter and there was snow! I’ve been begging Mom to take me for a nice walk at Gramma’s house, but either the weather has been bad, or we have not had enough time. I was super happy it worked out last weekend.
Mom says I can read her mind as she was going to ask me to stand on this fallen tree, but before she could say a word, I got up on it all by myself. We dogs can read humans like a book but humans have a lot of trouble reading their dogs, that is my opinion.
For this photo, I wanted to sit on this tree stump, but for some reason I kept sliding off. In the end, we settled for having just my front paws on the stump. We could not figure out why it was slippery, but it was a bit funny.
Even the Minnehaha Creek was pretty full of water. This is just an off shoot of it, but normally when we go by here it is all dried up.
Finally, this post is not only brought to you by me, Bailie. It is also evidently brought to you by the number nine. We walk a lot of different parts of the Minnetonka Trail System. My sisters were on another part of the trail a year ago and found the number six. We are not sure what the numbers mean. Maybe we need to find the missing numbers because it is some kind of puzzle? Exploring is always so much fun, hope you have time to explore with your pup, it is guaranteed to make you both happy!
My GBGV Life is happy, so weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
we saw a documentary in da tv… and you were really there… with all 4 paws!!!! how amazing is that!!!
What, a GBGV?
Mom and I had a difficult time reading your blog, Bailie. I don’t read so well, ang Mommy’s eyes are purple and swollen. I am glad you had a nice walk on a dreary day, and thankful you did not bring muddy paws back to Gramma’s house. XOXO Sparkle
Your mom should rest her eyes a bit. No worries, you can always look at photos if you can’t read, right?
I’m glad you had fun on the trail, you sure have lots of interesting places up that way. Hmmmm, I wonder what the numbers do mean?!?!
We have no idea on the numbers, very odd!
Thank you Bailie and the number 9. You brought us a great post!
Thank you. Mom says it reminds her of Sesame Street brought to you but the number 9.
Have anyone seen number 1?
We have only noticed 6 and 9 so far.
Maybe those numbers are part of a game?
We have no idea.
That looks like a fun time, maybe there is someone in the area who maintains it and knows what the numbers are all about. If itβs a game, it would be cool to find out how to play.
We think they mean something and are not a game, but we don’t really know.
I don’t know what the numbers mean either, but I sure enjoyed tagging along. Your mom takes you to the coolest places for a walk.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
We love getting out and about. It is always fun.
Look at you balancing on that log, Bailie. Mom would love it if I would do that too! Sleeping Giant used to have numbers along the trail and we never knew what they meant either. Maybe it’s for the peeps who maintain the trails?
We figure the city knows what they mean, but we have no idea. I bet you could balance on a log too.
Although peeps aren’t the best at reading our minds, they usually know what we want and are often happy to oblige. Peeps, on the other hand, have so many “tells.” And dont they know, when we stare into their eyes, we are reading THEIR minds? Well, I guess not everyone can be a dog, or there would be no one left to open the refrigerator or a can. XOX Xena and Lucy
We can tell from a distance if we are going for a run or a walk by the sound of mom putting on the clothes in the morning. We do need the humans and wouldn’t want life without them.
I loved to walk with you today, Bailie. I think the numbers say something about the quality of the water, I don’t know why I have to think about Love potion number 9 right now…MOL… Pawkisses for a Happy Day to all of you π β₯
That could be what they mean as they are in swamps with water. Very wise for a cat! We hadn’t thought of love potion number 9, but now we will!
Maybe that could be your goal on future walks there – find all the numbers! π
The trail system is long, but we may start looking more.
What a great trail! It is alot like the ones around here. The river trail is maintained for biking and tourists so in the spring it is the best one to go walking on. There is still snow up high and when that starts to melt the river can come up over the bank so we are taking advantage of the lovely weather, no tourists and a wonderful trail! And it must be quite the mystery about the numbers…
No tourists is always nice. Hope there is no serious flooding. The water doesn’t come up on the trails here much but we don’t have any mountains.
