The trio, meaning Bailie, Olivia and me are sharing our goals and predictions for the weekend. It will be the first sports road trip for all three of us. Mom will be worn out for sure, and we probably will be too. We will be going to Iowa for two FastCAT runs each and two barn hunt runs each. Yesterday we went to the training center to do a final rat practice together.
We have never run into another GBGV at a dog sports event, and people always wonder what we are. I think this weekend we will really make a splash with all three of us! What are we each planning or hoping to accomplish in our sports? Read on to find out.
Bailie hasn’t done a road trip in two years since she doesn’t like to travel. She isn’t a big fan of barn hunt either, but she did love FastCAT when she tried it two years ago. Her goal is to earn some good points in her FastCAT runs so she can maybe earn her BCAT title this year. As for barn hunt, she will dip her paws into the Masters ring. Mom is hoping she gets searches with just one or two rats. They hope to get a Q but it really depends on if Bailie feels like working or not. She really only cares about some FastCAT points.
Olivia wants to keep working towards her DCAT title and since she grew, it will be harder to earn points since she lost the height advantage. Nevertheless, she is fast and will have fun for sure. She is also fully capable of earning her two Senior Q’s for her title, but will she have the energy after her FastCAT runs? At our practice she had a blast and did an amazing job, so we shall see how it all shakes out.
I’ll chime in with the last of the trio predictions. FastCAT will be fun as it always is. Nothing beats chasing a lure for a hundred yards! Now that I’m the only one with the height advantage in FastCAT, I may actually bring home more points than my sisters do! I’m really hoping to do well in my two masters barn hunt runs. If I can get two Q’s, I will earn my champion title. We are figuring I will get maybe one Q. It will be exciting for sure!
Traveling and doing our sports is something we are very thankful for. Last year when so many events were cancelled we realized how really lucky we are to have so many events to go to.

There are a lot of them, nose work, scent work, barn hunt, fastCAT and tracking. Mostly nose stuff except FastCAT. You don’t need to remember it all 😉

called FastCAT when it is an event for doggies?
It started as a CAT test, coursing ability test for dogs who run in a circle. Now they added the straight 100 yds as it is better for those of us with longer backs and added the Fast part to it. Great question!

Lucy: You girls are going to do great. I can’t wait to hear how you do and how many titles you get. It’s really not my thing, but I am happy you are enjoying yourselves. Mom is laughing about how much straw your Mom will be picking out of your furs.
We do keep a lot of straw in our furs, but it falls off eventually, LOL! We don’t get to chase the rats as they are in tubes buried in the straw, but we do enjoy hunting them down.

It may be a movie, who knows, LOL. I’m sure it will be a lot of fun and it is something Mom has dreamed of trying for a long time. Her dream may become a nightmare, but we hope not.

There won’t be much time with Mom as she will be busy running us each around to our events, but it will be a lot of fun.
