We are each thankful for some things today, so we thought we would post those things for you.
Actually, this post was my idea. Remember back in August Mom was going to retire me from all dog sports and then we found help with a new instructor? Well, I’ve made a ton of progress in those seven or eight months. Mom works with me on my sniffing every morning before breakfast. I had some special sessions in my class because I was not performing in class but that was back in February. Guess what happened yesterday? I was the best dog in my class in three of my four searches. Mom says it blew her socks off! To top it off, my instructor messaged Mom after class to say that I was super awesome and Mom and I are doing so well with our training. That means a lot to both of us as she is one of the best sniff instructors in the area!
I’m always a thankful hound because I have a pretty decent home, and tons of opportunities in life. My sister Olivia is also something to be thankful for because we have so much fun together. We get really good and healthy food, and I’m thankful I have finally started to enjoy eating which sounds weird but for most of my life I was not interested in food or treats very much.
This will be no surprise, but I am thankful today because I get to go to a scent work trial on the weekend. I enjoy all my sports but the nose work and scent work sports are my very favorite ones. They are also the ones I am best at. It will be a really fun weekend and I sure hope I do well. I get to compete in Masters for the first time. The trial is local, so we get to sleep in our own beds and there isn’t any travel involved.

Thank you. Actually, I am having issues at the groomer as I growled at her last time, so now I have to go by myself and see if that helps.

to be the best is super great!!! we had a similar surprise with da Phenny, he always was the rascal whatever we did… but since we work for hunting contests he is a kind of teachers pet (well sort of LOL)
It is crazy how we can sometimes be the best. Now I will see how I feel at the trial on the weekend. Mom hopes I’m on my game.

What a nice post. Mom says it is a good thing to spend time thinking about what we are grateful for. Thinking like that makes us all happy and that is a good thing! We are thankful that we are all together. My baby brother is so annoying, but underneath it all I love when we are all together snuggling on mom’s bed. Then when we get up in the morning we go right for a walk and WOW! that makes me so happy — so I am so grateful for our daily walks!

We are so thankful for great friend like you, your brother, and your mom. We try to always remember how lucky we are because many dogs and people are not that lucky. Even our worst days are better than a lot of normal days for others. We love early morning walks and runs so much too. Have a great night!

They still have work to do, but they are well on their way. Today they had a huge disconnect the first two searches, but got back on track on the third search. It is not an easy road.

Geez, hope your mom is doing better. Our mom has had that before and says it is terrible. Thankfully it was before any of us were born.
