Ring around the pine trees is what Olivia and I played Saturday night. She was at a Scent Work Trial all day with Bailie while I was stuck at home. We missed each other, but I was a bit jealous that she got to trial and I didn’t. Our little game got us back on track, and helped us forget we were even apart all day.
Olivia can be pretty silly when she runs. She has such long legs, big paws, like an awkward teenager. Her positions are simply silly sometimes.
I love to be under the pine trees, and have since I was a tiny puppy. This drives Olivia crazy. Since she is much bigger than I am, she doesn’t fit well under the trees, so she “flies” around the outside while I fly around under them.
Once and a while I pop out and we get a game of chase going in our ring around the pine trees game. Olivia is speedy, but I can pop back under the trees quickly to avoid being tackled.
Leaping lizards, Olivia is really leaping around trying to get me to come out from under the trees. I have so much fun keeping her at bay, watching her frustration build! Being small does have some advantages.
Here’s one more photo of her in a crazy position. I really wonder what she is trying to do? Fly? Leap? Run?
Eventually, I do come out and we get a good game of chase going in the yard. No matter who gets stuck at home, or who goes to an event, we are still besties!

200% success at making me smile today. I hope Olivia at least brought returned with at least a wee scent for you.
Give Mom lots of treats for these excellent action photos. The 1st and 3rd photos are favorites here in NC

Thank you. We are glad you enjoy our romps. Olivia smelled like our friends, as well as nose work odors. I know what she was doing, but I still love her despite being a bit jealous.
How fun!!
It is one of our favorite games.
Your picky to have a bestie!
Everyone should have a bestie. Olivia and I are real besties and we are not keen on being separated. Mom says it is good for us to be apart sometimes.
hahaha we noticed that too… da nelly is smaller than me and he has this awrrowlike hunter running, so he fits under the bushes and trees… sometimes it is a challenge to be da big pup, right?
Yes, it is hard to be tall when places are so short, LOL!
You two sure were zipping and flying around the yard, fun, fun, fun!
We both had some energy to burn and we enjoyed a good romp after being apart all day.
These two are priceless. Some days I wish we had gotten a playmate for Lucy. Thanks for sharing some great images this morning.
Having sisters is fun, but being an only dog would have advantages as well. One has to be happy with what they have.
Wonderful photos of the playful doggies in action ~ XX

We are good at the action thing.
Aren’t besties wonderful? I just love my bestie Puffin. XOXO Sparkle
It is fun to have someone to be close to. We are glad you have Puffin.
Awww, you’re all so cute and yes it’s hard to pout about being left at home alone when you’re beasties. So adorable.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches all around and a hug to mom. β₯
Mom says it is good for us to be apart sometimes but we are not sure.
You girls look like you’re having so much fun!
We love our ring around the pine trees game and play it all the time. It never seems to get old.
These pups are so awdorable and you take the best photos!
It’s so much fun to have a bestie! Zachary and Mia are besties here.
It is just great. We have so much fun together!
So cute and so much energy! Love it!
Racing around the pine trees is perfect for burning off some of that excess energy.
It’s great to have a bestie to play with and just hang out with. Me and Xena are sisters and besties, too. XOX Lucy
Besties are the best. We really have fun together. Glad you have one too.
Seeing you guys play makes me realize how much Cinnamon misses the Hairy Slobbery Sister Bob. This last year she and I walk a couple times a week with 2 other dogs and she and Baby Grrl play the chase game,. Cinnamon has been like a different dog, much more outgoing and barks less. Cinnie and Bob used to run around the pine tree (Cinnamon on the inside) just like those 2! Thanks for the wonderful memories!
It’s sad Bob isn’t there anymore. The pine tree game must be popular for dogs. It sure is fun and wears us out too.
What a joyful time together!
It sure is fun, like hide and seek and chase all in one game.
Maybe Olivia was trying to contort herself to be shorter, so she could fit under those trees with you! π
Sometimes she comes under, but she doesn’t like it. She is simply too big.
