We have new titles from the SPDTC Scent Work Trial in Bloomington over the the weekend. Olivia and I participated in the trial and we had a possibility of four new titles overall. Mom said she would be happy with one or two. The trial was held at the Valley View Middle School. As you can see our noses are already working the air in the area!
Scent work and nose work are basically the same. Each is run by a different organization so the rules and searches are a bit different. NACSW runs nose work, and the AKC runs Scent Work. Dogs can easily switch between the two types of sniffing and that is what we do.
Because all three of us are trialing at the same level and you can only enter one dog in a search, Madison stayed home this time. Mom figured she could get more runs in and titles with me and Olivia. We went to a trial together the end of last summer too and did pretty well. Even though Madison was at home, we had her on our minds. This sign is hanging in the room we were crating in. Since Madison is our Pink Girl, we felt like was is her way of being with us.
Friday I had three searches, and two titles on the line. I was in really good form and managed to pass two of my three searches earning two of my three possible titles for the weekend. Now I have added Scent Work Interior Excellent and Scent Work Exterior Master to my name. I earned a fourth place in my Interior Excellent search and am the first on in the family to earn a Master Title in Scent Work. Now I can enter the Detective searches at my next trial. Can you see how happy I am about my new titles?
The days can be a bit long as there is a lot of waiting in the hallways. Mom gets bored too, so sometimes we do some photos to relax and pass the time while waiting. Sunday I had two container searches and another interior excellent search. Mom and I had a big disconnect in containers but I did get a Q in my interior search so the day ended on a good note.
Olivia only had one search on Friday which didn’t go very well. Saturday, she started off nailing both her container searches, earning her Scent Work Container Excellent Title. Mom wanted one of the orange element ribbons so badly, and they got one! Olivia also earned a fourth place in her first container search.
We each came away with a 50% pass rate which isn’t great, but Mom knows what we need to work on now to do better next time. It was a fun time and we can’t wait for our next sniffing opportunity! We call the weekend a huge success with three new element titles and some good learning experiences for us all!
My GBGV Life is happy, so weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
I think it sounds like a very successful weekend.
It was a good weekend for both of us!

We hope to show the world that French hounds rule!
You gals did great! AND most important you had fun!!
We did have a lot of fun.
Good looking pups and the ribbons are well deserved too. You’ll do better next time. Practice makes perfect.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches all around and an extra treat for Madison because she had to stay home. Big hug to your smart mom. β₯
Madison got spoiled too, so no worries there. We will just keep practicing to get even better at sniffing.
Congratulations! You both look so very proud of your ribbon, especially the orange one! 𧑠XOXO
Mom was eyeing the orange one from the beginning and said I had to get my container title because we had to have that ribbon!
Oh my goodness ~ any more ribbons on either of you and your pretty necks might be a bit sore! You just did fabulous we think. We
don’t pretend to fully understand all of this (but we’re slowly reading by visiting y’all) and it’s just amazing to us how hard you work,
though your Mom has explained it’s also something you love and enjoy doing … Anyway, once home, hope you got some rest and
some rewards for your great performances! And don’t brag too much to Madison!
Madison is just happy we are back home and she will get to trial another time. We all love our sports.
You girls had a great weekend! Bailie was really smiling in some of those photos.
We all love it when Bailie smiles, it is so cute!
Yay, yay, yay for the new titles! We figure 50% is better than not being there and getting 0%, right? Have a wonderful, smelling kind of day!
50% at the upper levels of trials is pretty good, especially for Olivia who just turned two.
What fun! The orange is perfect color. 50% is still WAY better than 0% or even 25%. You girls rock!
Thank you, but you should say you girls sniff!
wowee- look at all those ribbons! Good work !
We love to collect the pretty ribbons.
All of those beautiful ribbons around your neck are weighing you girls downβΊ Great work!
Good thing they don’t have sniffing olympics because those medals would really weigh us down!
Wackadoo! Great news! We love those ribbons and the orange one is awesome! How about that Pink sign!! That must have made you all smile. Your face with all of those ribbons on you — you are smiling!! Thanks for a great post. We enjoyed reading it! have a great day. your friend Lilly
Thank you so much. We had a pawsome weekend and are all proud of what we attained. Practice makes perfect, so we are back at practice.
Bravo, bravo girls, we’re very proud of you!!!
Thank you.
I’m with your Mom, I’d say the weekend was a huge success too!! Congratulations!!
Mom is super happy, and if she is happy, so are we!
Congratulations! We really admire dogs – much more disciplined than cats. Look at all those ribbons!
Cats would be much more difficult to train to do what we do, but someone with endless patience may have success with the right cat.
That was quite a wonderful experience. Congratulations to all. So nice to stop by and say hello. Have a good week.
Thank you. We did have a blast all weekend.
Yipee!!!!! Congrats on all of the titles π Your girls are doing so well.
We seem to be getting better and better. Our trainer is so amazing, and we are really fortunate to train under her.
We think you did great! And now you know what to work on which is a real bonus! You ladies rock the ribbons! We hope you have a marvellously happy day!
Mom has been working with us on our problem areas already so we can do better next time. For now we are still thrilled with the weekend outcome.
If you are having fun, learning, and doing better all of the time, it’s a success. Congratulations!
It was definitely a successful weekend. We are never done learning!
Way to go! Congratulations.
Thank you.
Even though it wasn’t all your Mom hoped for, it still sounds like it was a great weekend with new titles earned. Congratulations, girls! β₯
It was a good weekend and she learned a lot to help us in upcoming trials.
Congratulations!
Thank you. We had a good weekend.
