Team Orange did some top notch sniffing at the Rice County Fairgrounds on Mother’s Day. Olivia entered a Level 1 Exterior Element Trial. Last August she did a Level 1 Interior Trial at the ice arena right next to the fairgrounds. It seems to be a lucky area for Olivia to trial in.Olivia was number thirty out of thirty five dogs. Mom prefers to run earlier as the further down the list you are, the chances increase that dogs drool or go to the bathroom in a search area and it makes it a bit more difficult. No matter, they did amazing even with the number thirty.
I went along as the cheerleader again. Man is it getting to be a boring job! The car was covered in our aluminet shades to keep it cool, so I had to stand up to see what was going on around our car.
Olivia had four searches, each with one hide. To earn a title, she had to pass all four of them. No surprise to most of us, Team Orange passed all four searches without much trouble at all. Olivia earned her L1E Title, and Team Orange was quite happy.
Next up came the biggest surprise of the day! Olivia’s top notch sniffing earned her the top dog spot for the trial! Yes, Olivia found all four hides in a time of 1:17:17 making it first place! Mom has never had a dog place higher than maybe seven or eight, usually more like fifteen or so. This is the best Mom’s Day gift a pup at our house could give Mom. She is so happy, she still can’t believe it. At element trials there are no ribbons for first place, but they hold the spot on the NACSW results page.
Because of the new title and being number one, we stopped at the Three Dog Bakery on the way home and Olivia chose No Hide Chews for each of us for the evening. It was a perfect ending for a perfect nose work day! Congrats to the family Sniffalufagus and Team Orange! The question we now have is what will Olivia do next?
My GBGV Life is happy, so weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
