Two years ago today, Memorial Day 2019, I made my move to Minnesota. Wow! The day I turned nine weeks old this lady with her two GBGV’s showed up where I lived with my dog parents and siblings. She was super interested in me for some reason. Amazingly, she even knew my name was Olivia even though we had never met before. I had no idea what was about to happen and that I would become Orange Girl and get to do so many fun things.
The lady, who is now my mom, wanted to hold me. My siblings all wanted her to hold them but she only had arms and eyes for me. As I cuddled with her the first time I could tell this human was going to be a real push over! She is the kind of human that will spoil me rotten is what I was thinking.
There were these two GBGV’s that came with the lady, but I had no idea who they were. They got out of the car and were hanging out in a pen where we puppies usually played. Eventually I was allowed to meet them. The two of them didn’t seem to be interested in me at all which was a real bummer. I kept my distance as well, since I had no clue what they were doing at my house.
My breeder brought me to my dog mom and dad for cuddling which I found odd. Then all of the sudden everyone headed for the lady’s car. The two hounds got in, and I was put into a small cage, talk about embarrassing. This lady who now called herself my mom got in and we started to drive away. She told me that I was adopted and would be living in Minnesota with her and the two hounds who didn’t seem to like me much. Oh boy, it was a bit stressful.
The car ride took, I think, seventy nine years. We stopped for food, but I wasn’t hungry. I did my business and got back into my little jail cell. It was late at night when we got to the place I was supposed to live so we all went to bed. The next morning I got to go out into my new yard with these two hounds who are now my sisters. They sniffed me over real good!
To humor everyone I agreed to pose nicely for a sibling photo. Don’t tell anyone that I am rolling my eyes and Bailie is looking away. Madison is the only one who looks truly happy about everything.
As I hung out on the luscious green grass thinking about my move to Minnesota, I wondered what my life would be like. I am Ethos Loving the Northland, so I better love it here in Minnesota. Guess what? I do love it here! It is an amazing and awesome life that I have! My mom is the most important thing in the world to me and I never like to let her out of my sight. Madison is an amazingly great big sister, and Bailie is someone I can rely on when needed, but we are not very close. I’ve had so many opportunities in these two years and I’m super thankful to have such a great family! Even my name looks better with lots of titles: Ethos Loving The Northland CGC SWE RATO BCAT ORT NW1 NW2 L1I L1E Cheers to many more years of family and fun!

Oh I love the song! I sure went from a short, chubby puppy to a long lean young lady, but I look good both ways. I’m lucky to have a great home. Lots of pups don’t even have homes.
Oh, sweet Olivia ~ thank you for sharing your “home-coming” story with us, it was wonderful to read how you came to be a little Minnesota girl and your toddler pictures are so very cute! This is a gotcha day that everyone in your family can celebrate with joy!
Happy Happy!
We always celebrate with joy because it is our mom’s name π So glad you enjoyed my story. I’m one lucky hound and kind of cute too.

Happy Gotcha Day! I remember those BIG puppy feet you had – don’t think you ever truly grew into them! What a cute funny puppy you were; and what a fun “two” you have become! Your name – like your feet keeps growing! “Orang-chew” you glad moved to Minnesota??!!! That boxy prison cell was really a boxed gift to get you to where you could become famous as well a funny!
I still have my jumbo pillow paws, as Mom calls them. She adores them. I’m one lucky girl!
