Wild times with friends are always so much fun. On Wednesday, the weather ideal for a doggy play date with our Shiba Inu friends, Crush and Marvel. We have seen them at trials but we can’t play at trials. The temps were in the low sixties, there was a good wind and we were all energized! Bailie declined the invite to join us and went back inside. She really doesn’t like puppies much.
Marvel has sure grown up since we first met him in November. He is now about eight months old and full of himself which Olivia likes because she is the same way. The two of them picked up where they left off after their last play date immediately.
Crush spent time on the deck in his usual spot overlooking the jungle of a yard we have. He has no interest in participating in the fun chase games we love to play.
If you are wondering whether or not Marvel is happy about playing with Olivia, just look at the two smiling and running. They are so silly!
I will admit it, wild times with friends are a ton of fun, but I do get a bit jealous. Sometimes if Olivia is playing too much with Marvel and I am being ignored I have to separate them. I took a moment to explain to Marvel that Olivia is my sister and play buddy, but he sassed back at me, no respect for me I guess.
Despite the cooler weather, all the running makes a pup thirsty. The water bowl is on the deck. Marvel went up for a drink and then decided to have a look out over the yard like his brother, Crush likes to do.
Back on the yard level, the chasing game resumes with Olivia in hot pursuit of Marvel. Olivia seems to be taking the chase very seriously.
They both took a detour under the pine trees and here they are coming back out!
I do my best to keep up with the two crazies, but my legs are short. After taking a break, I’m happy to get back into the mix. This time it was Olivia telling off Marvel. Even when we get sassy, it is all in fun and we have a great time.
Believe it or not, we spent a little more than an hour racing and chasing in our backyard. Boy was it a lot of fun. We can’t wait until the boys come to visit us again, especially Olivia and Marvel. Those two are a perfect pair!

Neighbors can be fun play dates!
We wish they were neighbors, but they have to come over in their car because they live somewhere else. Marvel is always up for fun.

My brother would love to have friends over like that!! He goes to daycare where he gets to be wild with friends. Sometimes I will run with him in the back yard. He loves to pull my tail!!! We both came in and crashed after running full speed for an hour. It was really fun. Friends are a good thing to have. We don’t do daycare as it didn’t work out for us. Too many dogs and it was a bit scary so Mom quit taking us a long time ago.

They are friends but not neighbors. We see them at dog sports a lot. It is always fun to do some good chasing around!
You girls had a blast with Crush and Marvel and that’s great! Ducky has to tell Bogie off a lot, but he’s still a puppy so he’ll learn. She was the same way when we first adopted her from the shelter. She learned her lessons well, so now she’s the teacher.
The first time Marvel came over Madison spent the whole time being the bad friend, correcting him and snapping at him all the time. Since then, they are good friends but Marvel and I have the most fun.
I bet Marvel and Olivia were pretty tired after that play/romp day! It wore me out just watching them. Bailie and Crush may have been the smart ones! Yes, Madison, I saw you out there too! Happy Friday! XOXO Sparkle
Madison did a lot of running too because she didn’t want to miss out on the fun and she was getting jealous of me playing with Marvel and not her. Bailie went back in the house as soon as Marvel showed up and Crush just hung out on his own as always. It was a blast and we were all worn out afterwards.

Mom had trouble working when our friends left because I was snoring so loud. I snore and she says it is like an old man. Still, we all had good naps and Mom had to keep working.

OMD, what a wonderful time you had!! I have to admit Madison, during a recent play date Arty and had with friends, I also had to remind some puppies that Arty is MY brother and playmate too!

Play dates are so much fun! Coda loves to play with Diamond (the dog next door) and Lulu (Grandma’s dog). Watching the chasing and fun is a joy.
We are social creatures, so we love hang out with friends!
