Happy Memorial Day 2021! At our house we prefer to stick with Decoration Day. We enjoy decorating ourselves for the holiday…in case you haven’t noticed. Olivia refuses to hold things, so she gets to wear the flags on her head bopper. We all got new patriot sunglasses for the day, they look pretty good on us we think.
Emma captured the true meaning of this holiday in 2015 when Mom snuck her into the Fort Snelling Cemetery for this photo. There are no dogs allowed in the cemetery. Mom is a rule breaker and Emma went along with it all. She looks pretty proud to be there, don’t you think. Memorial Day is for for honoring and mourning the military personnel who have died in the performance of their military duties while serving in the United States Armed Forces. We are thankful for them as they have given us the freedoms we have today.
Enjoy the holiday, and the extra day off from that thing called work for many of you. We are really enjoying the extra day off. Mom has a lot to do around here and an extra day to get some of it done. No matter how you celebrate, celebrate responsibly.

Olivia is her own hound when it comes to that. All mom’s other dogs learned and did it in just a few minutes of training, but Olivia refuses. Oh well, she can be the flag head!
