Who wants some salmon training treats? Mom gave me a big can of salmon and I made it into some super yummy treats for my sisters and me. The recipe is super easy and quick too! I’m sharing it with you at the end of this post.
These yummy treats have just three ingredients, flour, eggs, and salmon. You can either find a big can of salmon or two smaller ones as you like.
The salmon is mixed with the eggs first. Make sure you get all the chunks out of the salmon so you have a kind of salmon paste. Chunks are not good in the treats. Add in the flour and mix it until it is a pretty firm consistency. Put a piece of parchment paper on a cookie sheet and dump the dough on it. Boy, does it smell good!
Rollout the dough to about a quarter inch thickness. This is why you don’t want salmon chunks in the dough. Save the mixing spoon to lick on once the treats go into the oven.
Once the salmon training treats are baked, take them out of the oven to cool in a safe place. You never know who may be sneaking around trying to steal a bite because they really do smell amazing! Once cool, cut them into your desired pieces with a pizza cutter. We cut strips so Mom can have one in her hand and break it into several pieces.
What do you think? Do these salmon training treats look fabulous or what? Do be careful in your kitchen as you may drool and it makes the floor slippery!
All I can do is smile about my creation because the salmon treats make me really happy! We divide up the treats into small bags and put most of them in the freezer for when we need them. My sisters and I enjoyed some of the salmon on the weekend. Mom kept the treats in the cooler so they were nice and chilled which is great on a hundred degree day!
Feel free to grab the recipe and make some for your own pup!

YES! YES! YES!!! I want some!!! It looks easy enough for my mom to make if I coach her a bit. Mom want to know if she could put the salmon in the blender to make it smooth. She also needs to make some new labels for ME, so that Dad won’t think he can eat them ( even thought he could). You forgot to tell us what temperature. 400?
350 degrees. You could put the salmon, juice and eggs in a blender, but then add the flour in a bowl.
Oh YUMMERS! You look so cute in your chef’s hat, Bailie, and you obviously are one SuperDuper baker!
I’m pretty good at simple stuff.
Have to tell you, with the price of canned salmon and how GOOD they look, I seriously think I would keep them for ME and the heck with Levi lol!!!!!
Mom says the can of salmon was at Aldi for like $3.50, so make some for the boys. Cats can eat them too.
ooh salmon…. we are on the way…. put some in the fridge for us :o)
I bet you guys could even make these!
Just absolutely love that last picture
Thank you, sometimes I can be so silly. Food just makes me happy!
Yes, please! I want to make some for Puffin and me. My crazy sister knows when Mom gets a can of tuna out of the pantry
Can she smell tuna through a sealed can? Thanks for the recipe! XOXO Sparkle
These are better than tuna for sure! You should make some.
Ya sure cooked up some goodies and I love that happy smile!
Kitties can eat these too.
Your smile is so sweet. I wish I could have some, but I can’t eat salmon. Grrr. XOX Xena
That is a bummer. We just love these.
What a great treat you have baked up!
Thank you. Sometimes simple is the best.
Your mom is the bomb. She does so many wonderful things for all of you. You’re all worth it though. Love your chefs hat and love that smile in the last shot.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
Food really brings out the happy in me and since salmon is rare at our house, I’m really extra happy.
Oh my goodness!! Those sound amazing Bailie!! How did you keep Burt away?!
xoxo,
Rosy and the Gang
Mom locked him in the basement or he would have made trouble.
Oh my! we will just have to make some of these – the looks on your face tell all!
We all enjoyed them as treats for our sports on the weekend.
Don’t let Bert get a whiff of these !
He would steal them all!
Oh, i can imagine any dog would love these.
They are simply to drool for!
These images are absolutely priceless. Lucy’s daily dog food is a salmon/pea blend. It seems to keep her coat very soft and shiny. Have a blessed week.
We eat raw, but no fish because Mom doesn’t like fish but sometimes we get salmon in treats and we love it.
Y-u-m! Those look totally pawsome. Thanks for sharing those delish-looking photos!
They were a big hit on the weekend.
We are so going to get Mom to make this! We all LOVE salmon and if Mom cuts them small enough, us cats can have them too!
Yes, the cats can eat them, but we don’t want to share with the felines, they are too tasty.
We’re just amazed your Mom let you have fish!!!
She likes us to have fish, but she doesn’t like touching it. This recipe can be made without handling the salmon until it is all baked into the treats.
