The Commemorative Air Force Museum, Fleming Field, and Wipaire were the venues for our weekend nose work trials. We were super excited to search new and interesting places!
I’ve never been to a real airport of any kind before. This airport is pretty small and deals with small planes and the older military planes. All the military planes were gone to an airshow on the weekend but there were still plenty of other planes around. For some of our searches we had to walk out on the tarmac to get back and forth.
The actual airport is called Fleming Field. Olivia found this monument with how the air field got its name.
Wipaire is the third part of the whole set up. They make floats for planes and they make them for most of the world. Two of the hangars we searched in belong to them. I love the logo and sign on their big building.
One of their big trailers was used to block the line of sight for one of the vehicle searches.
While I was waiting for my turn to search, Mom and I found this old bicycle. I think it might have been in one of my searches lying on the ground but I didn’t find any hides on it. The whole place is full of fun old stuff. I guess that is why it is called the Commemorative Air Force Museum.
Olivia had a vehicle element trial. This military truck was her first search vehicle. We always search the same thing, regular cars and stuff, so when we get something like this it is a lot more fun.
I have saved the best for last, the big hangar. One of my last searches of the day was the left side of this hangar with the plane in the middle of it. Seriously, how often does a dog get to search a plane? I had another plane in one of my other searches too! It is super fun to search in a real life place with lots of new and interesting stuff! Stop back tomorrow to find out how we did in our trials.

oh boy how amazing is that? that is such a wonderful idea to have your nosework event at such super places!!! we clap our hands and we send a big bravo!!! to all who organize your sports!!!
It was super fun and interesting. Lots of cool stuff to sniff out.
What a fun experience
Sometimes we get to go to trials at really unique places and it makes it all more fun.
Such a cool museum and that big hanger is a cool place for hiding things!
Lots of places to hide things there, but we managed to sniff them all out.
How much fun can two girls have? I was on a big plane one time. It was when my mommy brought me from Duluth to Orlando. Almost everybody on the plane knew me! I was really good and never made a sound. XOXO Sparkle
Mom flew with Emma at 9 weeks old. She said it was a nightmare. She howled and cried non stop at the airport and until they took off but started again on landing! The three of us have never flown and probably never will.
How fun. I would have enjoyed this outing. Your mom takes to you the most fun places.
I didn’t know how Flemming Field got it’s name. I know now.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches to all the furbabes and my best to your mom. β₯
It was a super place for sniffing and we learned things as well. When does a girl get to find a hide on a bomb or a bomb trailer without having to worry about things exploding, or walk under airplanes in a hangar?
Wow! You got to search a real airplane?? How cool is that! What a fun time you and Olivia must have had with all that fun equipment to search around!

We don’t ever search in vehicles but we search their exterior and the exteriors of some planes too for me. It was a super fun place for a trial weekend and close to home too.
Ohh what fun you got searching in and saw some very nice sights. Salute to Capt. Fleming
Hugs cecilia
It was a great place for searching!
What a SuperFun and very interesting place for your nose trials!
Finding spots like this is a rare thing so we are lucky we both got to go there and search.
Our mom would have truly loved doing a search in that place! Such interesting things to sniff. Good thing you girls were focused on finding the hides.
We know why we are there and we can sniff around at other times for other things. Part of the sport is learning to work in any environment.
What a fun venue! Maybe you will get to have more like it soon.
It’s very hard to find cool places that will allow dogs but sometimes we get lucky.
What an interesting place to go for trials! Mom’s Dad was an RAF pilot and then he flew for the Canadian Navy and he volunteers at the aircraft museum in Calgary. Mom says it is interesting but the airfield you guys were at has way cooler stuff! What an exciting adventure!
It’s not often, like never, that we get to search stuff like we did and see things we got to see. How cool with your mom’s dad too. The guys and planes were all gone to an airshow over the weekend but they left plenty of other stuff for us to see and sniff.
