Birthday party planning is a big job! What kind of cake would I like? Can I find a birthday hat I really like? When should I have my party? These are all questions I have to get settled before my birthday is actually here! A good place to start is by looking at birthdays past to see what worked and what didn’t.
The year I turned one was an easy year. I had attended Bailie’s party so I knew a little bit about parties, but not much. Lucky for me Emma was here and she was a party planner! Not only could she plan the party, she could and did bake me an awesome cake and ice cream dessert. As a youngster, I was a super picky eater, so she made liver cakes. Boy were they tasty!
When I turned two, Emma once again took over the birthday party planning job. She was so very good at it! At two I was still a super picky eater. She decided to make make a coconut cake with liver pieces inside of it. The cake kind of fell apart, but it sure was tasty! We all really miss Emma’s baking.
My third birthday was a bust – not even a party. I’m not really sure what happened but I got to visit Gramma on my birthday and she gave me lots of treats but my sisters and I didn’t have a party that year!
I refused to have another birthday without a proper celebration, so when I turned four, I took matters into my own paws. Shopping around online I found Wufers cookies and loved their look. I ordered a set of birthday cookies and we had them at my party. All of us enjoyed them and there were plenty for a few days of celebrating too!
Now I am going to be the big five! We have the bakery so close to our house, it is kind of obvious that I need to order something for my party there. Did you know they also have party supplies and all kinds of great doggy gift ideas? My nose was in overdrive sniffing up everything! For a quick moment, I thought about getting some huge chews for each of us and skipping the cake or cookies, but it was only a thought for a second or two. They sure look tasty, don’t they?
Finally I decided what I would like to have for my party. I told the nice lady working at the bakery and she carefully wrote down my order. Mom promised to come back and pick it up on my birthday for my party. I can hardly wait! It is going to be so tasty! Only a few more days and then I will reveal what I decided to order.
So much excitement, i can hardly wait!

Hi, June here ~ this is all so wonderfulness ~ I didn’t really have a party for my purrsday, but I’m going to copy (is that OK?) all your notes about party-planning so when I have birthday No. 2 I can share them with mine Mommy and she’ll know what to do! It seems you have it all figured out just right! And we’re going to come and celebrate with you, OK? OK!
Our kitties don’t have parties either. Cat bro Bert tries to get our cakes and food but otherwise it is dog parties here. Feel free to use any party planning ideas we have.

They are always really attentive and they love to help us whenever we come in to the bakery. I’m excited to see their creation.
What a fun walk down memory lane, Madison! You are getting me so excited to find out what you chose!!!! I am waiting with dog breath and drooling. you girls always seem to find such yummy things to eat! Will you have a different hat again? I am very big on hats – you would think I was a girl!

We haven’t had any really planned birthday parties. Our mom just gets us some special treats – we would definitely like to have one of those bakeries within driving distance here.

For us pups every birthday is usually celebrated big because life is short. Bailie has a June, Mom in July, and me in August for birthdays. Emma was September and Olivia is March. Parties and a good dessert is always fun for a dog of any age.
