We met our scent work goals over the weekend. Olivia, Mom and I went to Council Bluffs, Iowa for three days of scent work trials. We had some goals in mind, two of them pretty big, important ones. On Saturday, we met those goals which is awesome! Even though we didn’t get all the titles we could have, we also brought back some more Q’s toward the other titles.
What do you see when you look at this photo of me? Nothing really? That is correct. We had no idea, but the trials took place in the country on a farm. The only down side is all the dust from the dirt/gravel road. Mom is not a fan of those kinds of roads.
The farm house is absolutely adorable, and the landscaping is beautiful. Yes, we searched around those areas, but dogs were not to do any peeing in those areas.
This is the front of another building on the property. We feel very lucky to be able to search on these fancy, private grounds.
The humans had the beloved porta-potties. Mom says the name of the company makes her laugh, so she took a photo of it.
Being a real farm, we found animals, sheep actually. I was all about getting out there and chasing them, but Mom said that isn’t allowed and there was some kind of fence Mom say hurts animals if they touch it. Olivia saw the sheep the first morning before her first search. All of the sudden, they started to run. Poor Olivia was terrified. She could not recover from that and failed her first search because she was busy looking around for those sheep.
Saturday, Olivia passed her Master Interior search. The most important of our scent work goals for the weekend was for Olivia to get a Masters Title. She not only earned the title, but she also placed first Friday, and second Saturday! Now she will be able to enter Detective searches in upcoming trials.
Saturday afternoon I earned my Excellent Buried Title. It is the last title I needed to have my overall Excellent Title. I really wanted one of the big ribbons they had, and I got one for my overall title. I’m the second dog in our family and the second GBGV to earn this scent work title. Yes, I am proud of myself.
We are super happy to have these new titles and some more Q’s towards future titles! As we drove out of the trial location, we headed the stop sign which we think has good advice for any stop sign.
My GBGV Life is happy, so weโre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
oh Olivia we would do the same, if we see animals that way… we once had rabbits and fowl in da same hall and … well ya know LOL we say congrats to da GBGV team and we hope you all had a wonderful time!!!
We had a fun weekend together sniffing and exploring the area.
Bravo, bravo girls, ya sure done good. That is sure a very pretty farm!!!
It was a beautiful place! Hard to believe they let all the dogs come and search there.
Wow! Mom and I love the big ribbon! Congratulations and good work. The farm is beautiful. Nice post!! have a great day your friend Lilly
Thank you. I really wanted to get one of the ribbons that is bigger than I am and I did! Yay! Happy Tuesday.
Congratulations on your ribbons gals!! I love the landscaping around the farmhouse – I grow great weeds!!! The port-a-potty name is a hoot and the stop sign is a good idea. I enjoyed yesterday’s blog, but didn’t have a chance to write a note. It was a mini trip to Denmark!
Yes, we stopped in Denmark on the way to southern Iowa, LOL! Fun stuff to find and we will go back one day to see more of it. It was a good road trip overall.
Congratulations to you both! Beautiful and funny pictures of the hunt area. Was Olivia sheepish after her encounter with the animals? So happy you all had a successful weekend. XOXO Sparkle
Olivia was freaked out by the sheep but Mom spent a lot of time with her after that looking at the sheep and she kind of got used to them. I just wanted to chase them.
Congratulations on the new ribbons. You all rock.
I love that farmhouse too. Beautiful.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches all around and my best to your wonderful mom. โฅ
They had a gorgeous homestead there. We are lucky they let dogs search around there, it was fun.

How wonderful that you achieved your goals! That is really great news. We are so excited for you two ladies! What’s your next goal?
Olivia needs to earn two NW3 Titles, hopefully this fall. This is the biggest goal ever and we hope she can do it.
What a beautiful farm to sniff around. Congrats on all your Q’s!!
xoxo,
Arty and the Gang
Thank you. We enjoyed sniffing except for Olivia being terrified of the sheep at the beginning of it all.
Congrats on your latest competition. Well done, girls.

Mom was thrilled about accomplishing them on Saturday, she figured it would be Sunday if at all. The farm was very nice.
