Happy 8th Gotcha Day to me! My Gotcha Day is actually September 11th, Emma’s birthday. I think it is nicer to honor Emma on her day, and I can honor myself a day or two later. Since I crashed Emma’s 7th birthday party and never left, the least I can do is let her celebrate her birthday on her own.
On Saturday, September 11th, we all remembered Emma and celebrated her birthday. Mom also took me to Gramma’s and they both spoiled me for the day. I got several fun walks and lots of special treats and extra attention from Gramma.
Back on September 11th, 2013, I came to see Mom with two of my sisters. I am from a litter of fourteen puppies, ten girls and four boys. Mom only wants girl dogs, so my breeder brought us three girls for Mom to meet and maybe adopt one of us.
I was actually pretty mellow. My sister, teal girl, was fairly aggressive and was insistent on being adopted by Mom. While I sat quietly in Mom’s lap, teal girl was up in her face, trampling me. My other sister didn’t seem to care if she was adopted or not. Both Katie and Emma were not real interested in any of us.
In the end, I won out and got to stay with my new Mom forever. I was so happy! It truly was my lucky day and being well mannered really made the difference. Once I was secure in my new home I let my wild side out and have never stopped! I can be quiet and well behaved or I can be a real crazy dog!
On my 8th Gotcha Day I’m still super happy that I was chosen over my sisters to live with my mom and two new sisters. The past eight years have been wonderful. I’m really a lucky girl to have so much love and so many opportunities. I do miss Katie. She really took me under her paws the almost two years I was lucky enough to spend with her. Katie was my special sister indeed. Now I have new sisters but most of all, I still have my mom who I love so much and she loves me too.

Happy 8th Gotcha Day, Bailie! Your sweet puppy face has my mom doing the squeeeeeeeeeeee’s!
My mom loves puppies too. She would love another one about now, but we have a 3 dog limit in our town. She still loves my face, though, even though I’m grown up.
Happy 8th Gotcha Day to you You were an adorable wee pup who’s grown into pretty doggie. I don’t know much about different animal breeds and I certainly wouldn’t have realized that that was you as a puppy. I’ve read somewhere that you should always see what a doggie looks like as an adult instead of a puppy because they change. Sometimes cutie puppies don’t grow up to be such pretty animals but in your case you were lucky to be born the breed that you are because its a handsome one. As you can tell I know nothing about dogs or cats. I’m like oh that’s a pretty one, I’ll take it! That is if I weren’t allergic to animals but seeing that I am, I’ll just admire the pretty animals in Blogosphere like you and your furblings. Thanks for visiting this morning, little furriend. Have a boogietastic week! π
Thank you. Actually, our breed tends to change a lot. Madison has kept her black furs and Olivia only faded a bit but I changed a lot and our late sister Emma went from sable brown to faint tan in her first year.
Happy gotcha day! It was a lucky day for you and the entire family.
It was a lucky day, especially for me and Mom.
You are adorable sweet Bailie! Happy Gotcha Day from all of us!
Thank you.
happy gotcha day to you… the eight has no begin and no end so it means furever and ever ;O)
That is super cool. I never heard that before, but it is truly true!
Happy Day!! What wonderful memories and how funny that you were sitting sweetly on your mom’s lap! My brother was like that too. Mom thought she was going to adopt his brother who the breeder said was very smart. But he was barky! When we visited the litter, he was so noisy and when he walked over to see mom — I growled at him! and he snarled back at me! then he crawled all over mom! I knew he was not going to be a good fit. When my (soon to be) baby brother walked over to see mom, he was quiet and sat on her lap. I didn’t growl at him, in fact I kind of ignored him! So that is how it came to be that my baby brother Chester came home with mom two weeks later.
We hope today is a happy celebration for you! Enjoy! Your mom is so glad you are there!! have a good day, your friend Lilly
That is funny as it is a story a bit like mine. Katie and Emma didn’t grown at any of us, but they did a good job of ignoring. I’m glad your brother has worked out for you. Have a fun week!
Happy Gotcha Day Bailie. You were a sweetheart when you were just a pup. It’s little wonder why your mom chose you. I know your mom will make your day extra special.
We had a special day together on my actual day, last Saturday but we get spoiled every day around here.
Being well behaved would have worked for me too. You play your hand perfectly.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
She was a bit shocked once I felt comfortable here and started shredding stuff left and right, but I grew out of that phase after a couple years and we got lots of new beds because I ripped so many apart!
Happy Happy Gotcha Day, Bailie! I was so excited when your litter was born! Thanks to your breeder mom’s hard work, you ALL MADE IT! And I think you were very wise to crawl up on your Gotcha mom’s lap, stake YOUR claim, and lay low til she figured it out! I remember how good Katie was with you. I love seeing the “old” pictures of you and your first sisters. And look at you now – the matriarch!!!
Mom says I’m a goofy big sister but I am a sweetie. My litter was amazing and so happy we all made it. Mom tried for the entire time to ignore it on Facebook because she knew she would want one of us. It was all for nothing since Nancy brought us to the house, she had to take me π
Happy Gotcha Day Sweetie Pie!! xoxo
Thank you.
You were one lucky pup indeed!
I’m quite happy in my family.

Thank you. I’m a happy girl, so I smile a lot.
Happy Gotcha Day, sweet Bailie! You are a wonderful fur baby, and like Emma you too deserve your very own special day. XOXO, Sparkle
She never forgave me for crashing her birthday, so now I try to leave her day to her and I take a close one for mine.
Happy Gotcha Day sweet Baillie !
Thank you.
Wishing you many, many happy returns of your Gotcha Day!
Thank you. Hopefully there will be many more.
Happy Gotcha Day Bailie!!!
Thank you.
Happy belated Gotcha Day!
Thank you.
Oh, sweet Bailie, I’m sorry I missed your Gotcha Day! Things have been really hectic around here these past few weeks. You are such a sweet girl! Allowing Emma her day is totally selfless. β€οΈπ
I remember that Emma ignored you at times. That reminds me a bit of Ducky and Shadow when we first adopted Ducky; but after Callie went to Heaven, her two younger sisters started to get along. I really think Callie did her best to foster a true friendship between them so they would have each other when she passed.
No worries, it is just a day, but I can celebrate any time. Emma and I were not very close, but she was still my sister and she was a special girl. We are all special in our own ways.
