I’ve got 5 signs of a spoiled dog for you today. Most of the time, having a spoiled dog isn’t a problem at all. Sometimes a spoiled dog may start having issues. I’ll go over what to watch out for if you do live with a spoiled pup.
5 Signs Your Dog Is A Spoiled Dog
1. Your Dog Lies On The Furniture
Bailie broke the furniture rule when she moved in. Mom gave up and we all enjoy lying on the couches. They are really quite comfy. It is a bit of work keeping them clean but Mom doesn’t mind.
If your dog lies on your furniture and doesn’t move for you, then you may have a problem. Make sure your dog knows you come first when it comes to who gets to sit on the furniture.
2. There Are Way Too Many Dog Toys In Your House
We have toys everywhere in our house. There is this huge pile in our toy room too. As much as we love some of our toys, we always drop them when asked by Mom.
Toys are also not to be defended between pets or humans. If you want a toy your dog has, she needs to drop and let you have it. No growling or snapping to try to keep a toy.
3. Treats Are In An Endless Supply
We have a treat drawer, treat cupboard, and some in the freezer. Running out of treats is not going to happen here!
Treats are not the same as meals and if your pup is getting some tight fitting furs from over snacking, it is time to cut back. As with humans, food is to provide nutrition and enjoyment, but it is not to be abused. Extra weight means the treats need to be cut back, and maybe meals as well.
4. Your Bed Is Also Your Dog’s Bed
If your dog isn’t sleeping in your bed, you all are missing out. We love it and so does Mom. She says it is like having her childhood stuffed animals in real life. We share and get up and move when asked.
Dogs who take over the bed, don’t move or won’t let you in your own bed need to learn it is a privilege not a right to sleep in a human’s bed.
5. If You Can’t Take Your Dog, You Won’t Go
If you can’t take your dog to something, will you still go? Mom hates to leave us behind but sometimes it is necessary. There are people who will stay home because they can’t bring their dog somewhere.
Make sure your dog behaves well when you take her along, but also go places without her sometimes. It is good for both of you to have some alone time.
What do you think, do you have a spoiled dog in your house?
Yep, I totally have spoiled dogs. So much that it’s what I named my blog, Spoiled Hounds.
Yep, that is a perfect name!
You would never know that I was a spoiled girl seeing as I don’t go on the furniture and I don’t sleep in mom’s bed with her. I do have lots of toys and treats and now I have two personal fans just for ME!
Bailie has a personal fan too! Glad you are spoiled in your own way.
All of these – as it should be – and also daily activities!
These are just a few big ones. There are lots of ways to get spoiled.
Yes, I am a spoiled dog – and loving every minute of it!
Chablis
Good for you!
Those all sound pretty normal to us, but spoiled is good!
You kitties are living the good life too we think.
Yep…4 spoiled dogs here for sure!!

Rosy and the Gang
Isn’t it great being loved and spoiled so much?
Our Angel Little Bit was spoiled, but she was very well behaved just like your pups. Nothing wrong with spoiling your babies.
Have a fabulous day and weekend. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
There is nothing wrong with it as long as the pup doesn’t start getting defensive about it.
We’re a yes on almost every single one!!!
Congratulations π
Oh, yes! All 5 apply to Puffin and me. I’m so happy we passed the spoiled dog testπ€£β£β€ XOXO Sparkle
We know you guys are spoiled too. It is the way life should be!
They deserve to be spoiled. Why else would have a dog
This is very true π
Coda, the dog i dogsit when Little Girl is on military duty, is a little spoiled but she listens well, doesn’t fight for her toys or food, and moves when told. She’s also a good weight. Sometimes i wish i could spoil her more with extra walks, but i have to work.
You are like our mom, always working. It’s good Coda is spoiled and handles it correctly.
Ducky and Bogie don’t sleep on the bed with us, or have several different treats; but they are spoiled with love and attention and lots of toys.
Love and attention is great!
Oh definitely! But we share the same sentiment as your mum.
We’re glad you are spoiled!
We are all spoiled in this house, us cats, Cinnamon and our human brother Alex. and when she tells us to do something, we never ignore her. We LOVE our Mom and we all know that she is the Alpha.
We sometimes try to over rule the alpha but we know that won’t fly so we give up.
