Team Orange was looking for big nose work success last Saturday in Youngwood, Pennsylvania, and we found it. Mom and I had a wonderful day of searching including lots of fun and good, hard work. The weather was ninety degrees and humid, even Mom was sweating. Madison and I were wilted in the car waiting for my turns to search, but I still managed to do my best job ever.
Here I am waiting for my first search, interiors. NW3 has six searches. In this trial we had three interior, one exterior, one vehicle, and one container search.
There were a total of nine hides to be found, including one search area with nothing in it. Remember at this level each area can have zero to three hides and we don’t find out if we were correct until the end of the day. Mom is improving when it comes to trusting me and knowing when I have found all the hides in an area. Above is a map of the search areas and hides.
It turned out to be the best day we could imagine! I earned my second NW3 Title, including third place overall, along with three out of my four element titles. Five out of my six searches received “pronounced” from the judges which is for exceptional handling and team work. The biggest and best surprise is earning third place overall in the entire trial with a total search time of 10:22.12! Mom got wet eyes because she is so proud of me and our team. Westmoreland County Community College is where we were searching and it had some fun spaces with lots of stuff to search. I earned my first NW3 Title back in July, now I only need one more!
After the trial we drove to Rochester, New York and when we finally got to the hotel, Madison and I crashed totally! Mom and I are so happy and excited about the success of our team and we can’t wait for our next trial. Each one seems to just get better!
