Meeting new relatives in Upstate New York was a lot of fun. We drove from Olivia’s nose work trial in Pennsylvania to Rochester, New York to meet some of the human family we have never met. Mom hasn’t seen them in a long time, so she was excited for this portion of our six day road trip adventure. We started by meeting them at a park to go for a nice walk together.
The park was in a wooded area and also had waterfalls. Most importantly, there were tons of squirrels and chipmunks. Olivia and I were so busy sniffing and chasing squirrels, the walk just flew by us! We also got into a lot of burrs which is no fun. When we got back to the car, we had to have our furs combed out.
Some spots have big rocks that just scream out loud to be a photo opp! We chose this one rock to take a photo but we were distracted by squirrels.
The best was the pretty waterfalls. Rochester has had a lot of rain this summer, so the water was really running. Going in the water is forbidden for dogs and humans, so we sat nicely next to the water.
Back at the relatives house, we got to hang out by the pool. It was cool out, and the stone floor felt good on our furs. After spending three days mostly in the car, it felt really good to take the walk and then be able to run around by the pool for the day.
Mom says I make a cute mermaid, so I posed by the little mermaid statue at the pool.
Olivia was really curious about the pool. I double dared her to jump in off the diving board. She contemplated doing it but then chickened out. For us meeting new relatives was fun. The little humans really liked us and gave us loads of loving. Mom enjoyed seeing her relatives and having a relaxing day with good company and food. We are thankful for our great road trip!

Oh my, that swimming pool does look inviting!
We are not big on swimming so we didn’t swim. The water tastes funny, though, as we tried to drink from it.
Next time itβs Central Park. Lots of squirrels.
There were tons of squirrels in Rochester too. We were a bit nuts about them.
You were in the right city for photographs since Kodak made Rochester famous. Not so much anymore. You should have PUSHED her! XOXO Sparkle
I don’t think Mom would have liked that idea. Mom’s uncle used to work with Kodak with whatever his product was but he too said business isn’t what it used to be for them.
You girls sure get around! Upstate New York is beautiful, I’m told, and you just proved it. Thank you for letting us coem along with you vicariously.
Chablis
It is nice up there. Mom says the lakes are gorgeous.
you are definitely having a lovely road trip! That park is gorgeous, as are your photos, and that pool area is just EXQUISITE!!!! Glad you were there before it cooled down like it is now.
It was fairly cool when we were there which was nice for us. The day before at Olivia’s trial was way too hot!
I would have loved to have gone with you and that pool looks so inviting and so clean.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
It is a pretty pool, but neither of us are real water dogs.
That’s great that your mom was able to visit with family – always a fun time!! The waterfalls are beautiful – I could just sit there and watch them.
We couldn’t sit still too long because there were so many squirrels to watch! Our whole trip was fast and furious, but we still had a great time.
That had to be so much fun and your photos were really fun too! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Every day we had some new fun. It was a really nice road trip.
What a fun and beautiful trip! You look so cute next to your mermaid friend, Madison!
Thank you. I think is is small and cute like me.
Who are you? Who, who? Who, who?
Yep, we had no clue, but Mom knew everyone.
What a joy! It’s always great when you have good family and you can see them.
Mom hasn’t been there in like 20 yrs but we have never seen those relatives.
That walk looked like it was fun.
It was a really nice place for a walk.
You girls are having quite the trip! I’ve been busy at my shop, but have been following you along on Facebook!
It was 6 days of fun and lots of driving. We all had a great time.
What a magnificent place to visit! And you got to meet related peeps is the icing on the cake! Cinnamon asks if you too cry like little babies when your furs get pulled when having the burrs combed our. (We think she is a bit of a wuss). Thanks for showing us the beautiful scenery!
Olivia and Bailie just let Mom comb them out, but I am naughty and I will nip if it hurts me. Mom knows how to handle me, though, so it does get done.
So pleased you had such a lovely time visiting, it’s always great to catch up with friends and family xxx
It was a lot of fun meeting people we have never seen before in new places too.
