We earned Masters Titles and Q’s at the AKC Scent Work Trial in Faribault on the weekend. The trial was Saturday and Sunday and held at the Rice County Fairgrounds. I had an element trial for Nose Work there back in May of this year.
Because we are all at the same competition level, we often can’t all run, so Mom took me and Bailie on Saturday. As always, Bailie was a wreck in the car. I try to comfort her and I even lick her ears but it doesn’t stop her panic. It’s hard to ride next to her as she is such a mess and I enjoy riding in the car so much!
Both days I got to do Detective runs for the first time. They are large indoor/outdoor search areas with 5 – 10 unknown hides and they give us 7-15 minutes search time. Mom wrecked both of our searches but we still had such a great time! We are both looking forward to our next Detective searches. Now Mom knows how to use our stopwatch and she also learned to not call things while I am still working on solving the odor puzzle.
Saturday, I also had one Exterior run and two Buried Hide runs. I passed my Exterior and one of my Buried runs. For my Master Buried Title, I only needed one run, so I earned that title on Saturday including a third place, which is my second title in Masters!
Bailie had a weird weekend. She failed her Excellent Buried searches miserably but then went to her two Master Container searches and passed them no problem giving her a Master Container Title. Mom was thrilled as she was hoping Bailie would finish that title so I could start working on it. If you are wondering, we could choose from orange or blue title ribbons. I, of course, love the orange and Bailie prefers the blue ones.
Sunday Madison came along with us to try her paw at Masters Buried. Sadly, it was a disaster. Mom says she will work on it with her and they will try again later this month.
I had another Master Exterior Search Sunday morning and I passed giving me my Master Exterior Title and a fourth place for that search. Masters Titles are coming my way as I now have three of the four elements. When I pass Master Containers, I will have my overall Masters Title.
Bailie tried her paw at Excellent Buried once again on Sunday and she passed both with flying colors! Now she only needs one more leg for her Excellent Buried Title which will give her and overall Excellent Title. We are both happy about our pretty new ribbons, but as you can see in the photo, I am also very proud of myself. This sport is my favorite game in the world and I just love playing it with my mom! Bailie and Madison like it but they don’t have the love of it like I do. Our new fancy ribbons and titles sure do make for a happy weekend!
My GBGV Life is happy, so weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
What pretty ribbons you earned this weekend. Sounds like you had lots of fun!
Part of the fun of getting titles in AKC is seeing what kind of ribbons we get. They are always different.
oooh you are fantabulous!! and one more leg for your sister? I bet that is done soon… and the title is in your pocket ….
With Bailie, we just never know, but Mom is hoping she will do it next time!

It if fun when we all compete, but it is also a lot of work and confusion for Mom as we are all so very different when we work. Overall, though, a great weekend!
It makes me sad that Bailie gets so distressed in the car, bit am thankful she can shake it off yo do so well with her nose.†Olivia. you are just a m a z I n g⣠You a GO TEAM ORANGE!𧑠XOXO Sparkle
That is why Mom leaves her home a lot because it stresses Mom out when Bailie is stressed. Madison and I could live in the car we love it so much. We may be coming to your town, in December. We hope to find out soon, and we will let you know if we do.
What can I say??? You girls are great embassadors for this sport, and for GBGVs! YOU ALL ROCK!!!
We are the GBGV sports maniacs! All of us have our things we love most too.
You all do such wonderful things to win your ribbons. We sure enjoy your mom letting us enjoy your triumphs too.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
We always try to have fun winning the ribbons and also doing other things wherever we go to our trials. It is almost always a lot of fun.
You girls are both amazing and your ribbons are so beautiful!

It was a really nice weekend and it is always fun when the whole family (cats don’t count in family) gets to go and be together.
Wow!! Congratulations!! Those ribbons look so Octoberish!!!!!!!!! Beautiful!!
Mom says I’m a complete fall dog and orange is such a perfect color with my eyes and my furs.
Great work, and congratulations! How i wish there was something that could help Bailie with her fear of the car. Love those ribbons!
We too wish that. Mom has tried CBD, knock out drugs, all that stuff and nothing really works so she just goes to places close to home and once and a while a few hours away to Iowa for Barn Hunt and FastCAT.
Those ribbons are beautiful, colorful and shows how smart you all are. I sure love seeing you here. Have a wonderful week.
Thank you. Part of the fun of winning ribbons is all the different ones we get. They add lots of color to our walls in our home office.
They nose what to smell! Clever pups!
We are scent hounds, so we should know our smells.
Congratulations! Those ribbons are awesome! Good job!
They are very pretty for both of us and we are all happy to have earned them.
