Team Orange earned their NW3 Elite Title over the weekend, up in Brainerd, at Camp Confidence! This is huge for Mom as she has been trying to get to this point since May 2016. It has been a long road with Emma, Bailie, and Madison, but thankfully she has me, Olivia, the Sniffaluffagus! I managed to earn this title in just six tries and at only two and a half years of age!
Earning the NW3 Elite is not easy as there are several parts involved. A dog must pass an NW3 Trial three times, and pass each of the four elements three times. My sisters have all tried over ten times and only Madison has one leg towards a title, so having earned mine in six shots is amazing! Now we will move on to the Elite level which will be so much more fun!
We headed to Iowa on Thursday for a trial on Friday. Mom was totally out of sorts and stressed out at the trial and our team was, therefore, a hot mess. We got a “no” early on, so we just left. Thankfully we had a long drive to Brainerd which gave Mom lots of time to adjust her head and get us back on our normal successful path. We were all tired out once we got to our hotel. Poor Madison fell asleep in the recliner.
I was not ready to get up Saturday morning. Sleeping in would be nice but when Mom said nose work, I was able to wake up and motivate myself. Sports are truly my thing and I can go from zero to a hundred in no time flat!
Team Orange was back together Saturday but the only searches we really needed to pass were the two interiors, one of which was the last search of the day. Mom held it together pretty well, but at the end she was really a nervous mess. I am confident and remained confident and hard working in my final search to guide us to success.
My nose was successful and we earned our NW3 Elite Title. I know when I do good and I am super proud of myself. Camp Confidence has some Peanuts characters which I think make a good background for a title photo.
Team Orange is made up of more than just me. I have to really thank my sister Madison for coming along and hanging out in the car all the time while I trial. She is an awesome cheerleader for our team, and a super good sport. In the future I will continue to support her when she is competing as well. A big title just wouldn’t be the same without my best cheerleader, including pom pom!
You all know my biggest fan is my teammate, my mom. I do my best to keep her calm and giving hugs is something that relaxes us both. Trust me, I gave her a lot of hugs with my jumbo pillow paws after earning our NW3 Elite Title. The only bummer is there is an issue with the NACSW website and it doesn’t show my new title. They are working on fixing that but it may take some time. At least we know we have the title. Now on to bigger and better sniffing at the Elite level!
