We all had a chance for some fall walks with Mom during breaks at our Scent Work Trial on the weekend. All three of us spent the weekend at the trial and besides running us, Mom was also a volunteer. Sometimes she had a break and she took us each separately for a little walk.
The trial site is a place we have been to several times before for Nose Work but we never walked very far down the lake path. This weekend Mom did a bit more exploring with us.
Even though it is fall, the leaves are not very pretty this year. They say it is because of the drought we have had most of the summer. Nevertheless, the leaves on the ground do give the fall feeling. It was not too warm, but in the sunshine, it was warm in my fur coat. The leaves love to stick in our furs too!
Bailie took her walk earlier in the morning and she also took a different path.
The lake is beautiful. One one side there are houses that go right up to the lake, but the trail goes along the other side of the lake.
Olivia was the last one to take a walk down to the lake with Mom. The two of them took a different turn and followed a creek. There wasn’t much water in it, but for when there is, this bridge is there.
Our fall walks were fun but Mom says Olivia’s was stressful as there are a gazillion squirrels racing around in the woods. Olivia was going nuts watching them and trying to lunge after them. Since Olivia is a flight risk because of the squirrels Mom could only snap photos if she could hold onto the leash or attach it somewhere. The walks really made a nice break from our kennels and the waiting time between our searches.

What pretty surroundings for your walks! Our first touch of fall has arrived here in Florida. Cooler weather has arrived this morning. Right now it’s 59 degrees in Orlando. XOXO Sparkle
It was 39 this morning here, still too warm. We need a good frost. Hopefully it won’t be too cold in December when we are in FL.
we agree… da leaves are not good this year… we better leave them alone ;O)
We will put them in a pile and play in them.
Do you guys ever sit still? I get tired just reading the blog.
you and me both!
Next weekend only Olivia has a trial and only one day. Spring and summer are when all the trials happen, so we are busy for a couple months each of those times of year, then it is nothing for a while.
I’m glad you had a fun time on your out n’ abouts!!!
It is good to relax a bit when we are trialing for a break.
It’s good that mom takes each of you for a walk. The tree rats is another story all together. You are all so precious.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches all around and a hug to mom. β₯
She enjoys spending one on one time with us and we like it too. The tree rats, well, they are nuts right now and we really want to catch some of them.
Oh my brother goes bananas with squirrels! He is like your sister Olivia. Great walks! How lucky you had time to do that — looks like a pretty spot. Great post! Have a great day, your friend Lilly
We all love squirrels but as we get older we lose some of the craze and wildness we have as young pups. Mom needs to get away to relax and it is a great way to spend some time together at a trial.
Looks like you girls – including your Mom – all had some nice walks at the trials! Our leaves aren’t changing much either this year; but at least the temps are cooling down and the humidity isn’t as oppressive. Even without the pretty colors, autumn is still my favorite time of year.
Out leaves are just dropping without much color. Mom is not happy as we keep tracking them into the house in our paws and furs. The temps are supposed to finally cool down now and we are happy about that.
Great set of images. I’m not sure how much autumn color will be in the Ozarks this year. The past two years have been spectacular. The leaves are just starting to change and we finally got cool temperatures and rain last week. Hopefully it will be enough to trigger a really nice display of seasonal colors. Have a blessed week.
Hope you get to see some great colors. We were up north ten days ago, but the bright red and orange leaves were rare and usually they are the stars. Most leaves were more yellow in color.
How very lovely ~ tho cooler at night, we haven’t really even a little touch of fall yet in our days, but waiting, waiting …
Fall is supposed to start hitting us later this week and we are ready.
What a beautiful spot to spend lots of time and yup, those squirrels can be such a PIA, Olivia!
PIF, pain in the furs. We love them but if we have to be on leash and can’t chase them it is torture.
Ladies I do so very much love walking in the fall…popping acorns under my feet and crisp leaves and oh the fall aromas!!
Hugs Cecilia
There are lots of acorns by Gramma’s house but they are dangerous as they sometimes hurt our paws and they can be slippery for humans. Hopefully the squirrels have buried them all somewhere.
What a beautiful fall walk, we can only imagine how those tree rats must have annoyed Olivia! Glad you got a some time to stretch your paws in between events!

It’s nice to get out in nature and just forget all the stress and stuff even if it is just a half hour or so. We were all crazy about the squirrels but Olivia is really crazy!
beautiful photos!
Thank you.
wow! How fun!
Nice way to take a break.
What lovely walks!! And so exciting with all those squirrels!
The squirrels are really out and about around here right now.
You were all enjoying your outing. Always wonderfult o stop by and say hi. Thank yoi for the wonderful photos.
We had some nice down time outside with some good little walks.
Those are lovely places to walk in the fall.
Coda loves to chase the squirrels, too, but they are too fast for her.
They are usually too fast for us too, but if you can spot some playing together they often don’t notice us and that gives us a chance to capture them.
We are glad that you got out and about and walking to and by the lake would be a ton of fun! We can’t wait to hear about your trials. Mom does not like it when Cinnamon lunges after the wild life either. She goes nutso with the deers.
We usually bark if we see a deer, but it rarely happens. Small critters we just want to chase and capture.
It’s nice to be able to get out for some nice walks and fresh air in between all your hard work!
It helps us all relax and forget about the competition for a bit.
