Who wants some scary, good pumpkin face cookies for Halloween this week? I had a hankering for pumpkin and decided to dip my paws into baking once again. It truly is a wonderful self rewarding behavior! Your pups will love these cookies and because I like simple, they are super easy to make. You can grab the recipe at the end of the post. There are a lot of ingredients, but don’t let that spook you.
I mixed all the stuff together in the right order to make a nice ball of dough. My secret here and hot tip is to use your paws to get things really well blended together. The mixing spoon just didn’t do the job, so I licked it off and used the old paws.
Next up is the task of choosing your cookie cutter. I have a whole set of Halloween ones but I want to make pumpkin cookies with faces, so I will be using only the pumpkin cutter.
Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch of thick goodness and then push the cutter into the dough. Try not to eat too much dough as you need to save it for the cookies.
You can use any size of cookie cutters you would like. Mine are on the larger side, so I get about twenty pumpkins out of the recipe. Since I want fun cookies I used grated carrot pieces for mouths and eyebrows and some peas for the eyes. It is fun because I made some happy, some mad, and some really nasty looking ones. I did lick them as part of my quality control process.
It didn’t take long and my pumpkin face cookies were ready for the hot house, aka oven. Thankfully our weather is fairly cool now so as soon as they come out of the oven, I will put them outside to cool. Waiting to taste is so hard but they will cool fast outside.
The cookies survived the oven and the cooling off outside. I think they look pretty decent. Some them have cracks in their faces which gives them more character.
Now for the best part of baking, the actual tasting of the final product. I gently took the cookie off the counter, it is a shame to break them but it will have to happen eventually or I can’t eat it.
My cookie was gone in no time flat! All I have left is my cookie smile. They are really scary delicious!
Eating my cookies is such a project, I lost my Halloween hat but I think my tongue gives you all you information you need. Give these a try for your own pup, she will love you for it! Get your paws on the recipe and start baking!
My GBGV Life is happy, so weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
Being pumpkin and all, they’d be great for any of the holidays through the end of the year. Thanks for sharing the recipe, Coda will enjoy them.
Sure! You could make them in any shape you like and they will taste just as great!

I enjoy baking when I’m in the mood and we all enjoy eating the cookies.
You did great, Bailie π I just love it when you get in the kitchen, but it hurts my heart because I think of Emma.π It’s okay if they crack and get wrinkles then they look like my mom! Yummy! XOXO Sparkle
Oh dear, I hope your mom doesn’t read your comment! Mom gets sad sometimes when I bake but once and a while I enjoy making treats for us.
Well done Bailie! Mom might just do this! She loves baking–we love sitting in the kitchen while she works!. They look really good and we love the faces!! LOL! Have a great day your friend Lilly
Our mom says they smell good too because they are pumpkin and cinnamon, we are just in it for the taste. Hope you get some cookies of your own.
Thank you for the great recipe! We think our mom might even eat one with us!
She sure could but they may be a bit bland for humans.
I will make them for my Alex! I’ve baked other cookies from your recipes and they turned our great. You bake great cookies Bailie. I love the faces on the cookies. Thank you!!!
Thank you. I’m not a big time baker like Emma was, but sometimes I get an idea and run with it. We all really like these cookies.
I forget to mention that you look very bewitching in your hat. Purple is your color! (Was my mom’s favorite color)
I’m definitely the purple girl and I love my witches hat too.
Your cookies look delicious, Bailie, and we love the way that you have decorated them!
Thank you. I figured it is easy and pretty healthy, so go for it.

Making the faces was the most fun next to tasting the dough!
Oh! Yum! Cinnamon wants Mom to make her some of those cookies! She LOVES homemade.
We like homemade too but it doesn’t happen all that often. Maybe you will get some of these to try soon.
