We just did our first Wisconsin FastCAT weekend! Until now, all our FastCAT trials have been in Minnesota or Iowa because they are closer and often combined with Barn Hunt. This time we wanted one more trial weekend before we go to the Invitational in Orlando next month, so we headed off to Milwaukee.
Since we didn’t have our runs until ten o’clock, we drove down the same day which meant getting up at two am and leaving at four am. Thank dog Mom drives so we could sleep most of the time to store up energy for our runs. We had to wait in line for our turn to run which is hard because we really just want to get running!
Before we left home, we found out a Facebook friend and his parents were going to be at the FastCAT trial as well. Quentin is a PBGV and we could not wait to meet him. We did some good sniffing and the humans did the usual chit chat stuff they always do. Of course, we had to take a photo with him too.
After our runs on Saturday, Mom took us into Milwaukee for a short tour. She used to spend time there when she was a flight attendant but hasn’t been there in many years. We will post about that adventure on Friday. Finally we made it to the hotel where we both crashed out on the bed. Getting up so early, trialing, and touring is exhausting!
Even Mom was asleep by nine o’clock. Our time slot was not until ten again on Sunday, so we were lazy and hung out in the room for a while. Both of us were ready to go, though. We could hear FastCAT calling us!
Our weekend was a success. My first run is a personal best of 20.3 mph! My previous and only other 20+ mph run was 20.2 mph back in June. The other three runs were pretty good speed too but no more 20+ mph. I’m still super proud of my runs and so is Mom.
Olivia is the family FastCAT star and she keeps getting faster every trial! It’s no wonder she is the number one GBGV last year and this year. Her first run is also a personal best of 22.43 mph beating her previous personal bestΒ of 22.42 mph BUT her last run of the weekend she posted another personal best of 22.63 mph. We are wondering, will Olivia make it to 23 mph one of these days? They say dogs get faster as they do more of these especially as they mature and Olivia is still just two years old.
We think we are ready for the Invitational in another six weeks. It is going to sure be a lot of fun!
My GBGV Life is happy, so weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
Great work girls! And as always mom is very impressed with your mom — up at 2 and driving by 4 — yikes! Looks like you girls had a good weekend though — that’s a speedy little Olivia you have on your hands!!! your friend Lilly
Olivia wants to win best of our breed at the invitational, so she is practicing being speedy. With my short legs, I can’t beat her, but I am really fast for my height.
wow that is super fast… and we are sure your Olivia can make it to 23mph… that is like mach 2 for airplanes right?
Maybe she will learn to fly?
How fun and I’m telling you that Olivia is a superstar and she’ll get better and better.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches all around and a hug to mom. β₯
Mom says she will be at her best in a couple years, so look out world!
Well girls – you do run faster than me! If my Alex were younger I would have him try the Fastcat. Congratulations on a successful weekend!
We dogs just love the sport. There are a few that won’t chase the lure, but most of us lose our minds over it.
Marvelous runs both of you! Have a super fun day today!
We are happy with our times for the weekend.
Congratulations, girls! You look exhausted crashed out on the bed.
You may think the 100 yards twice isn’t much, but it really tires us out!
Thank goodness you let your mom sleep so you could sleep and rest. Personal bests are the ultimate reward! Yay! You both did fantastic. I wonder if I am related to Quentin? See you next month! XOXO Sparkle
We are looking forward to Florida a lot! We will be there six weeks from yesterday and six weeks from today they are offering practice runs, yay!
Team Orange is rocking the FastCats! Wow, you ladies are doing so furry well! And how exciting that you got to meet a FB Furrend! Is this the last event before going to Florida? Or will you get to practice (and WIN) more!
This was our last practice before Florida. We are ready!
You guys are the best! So talented and a great mom.
The three of us are sports maniacs, LOL!
That looks like sooooo much fun! You girls are Fast!
