We’ve been having loads of leaf fun around here the past week or two. Mom has made some nice piles for us to play around in and the wind has made leaves blow which is ideal for chasing. Sometimes I enjoy stretching out in the leaves and getting their smell all over my furs.
Olivia enjoys racing around the yard chasing blowing leaves. Mom says it is good FastCAT practice for us.
It isn’t easy to resist that chase instinct. Sometimes I take off and bolt after a blowing leaf myself.
Olivia always likes to do what I do and be around me. Look out! Here she comes to lie down in the leaves with me. It would be nice if she would learn to be a bit more graceful.
Once settled in together I whisper some secret stuff to her, right in her long ear. These leaves smell a lot like squirrels and I think we need to catch one sooner rather than later. Now that we caught a rabbit, why not go for a squirrel?
Mom loves her photos, so we agreed to hold off on our leaf fun for a moment while she took our photo.
Some people say it is dangerous to play in the leaves but these are our own leaves that recently fell off our trees. Mom makes the small piles for us to play in, so we know there is nothing in there which could be harmful. Just in case, I do my own sniffing around.
We find windy days are the best days to play in the leaves, but the wind does do a number on our furs. Who cares how I look? As long as I’m having fun, I can get my furs combed later.
Fall is such a fun time of year with the cooler temps and the leaves to play in. We are sure enjoying being out in the yard a lot right now.

It’s weird as we have some trees full of colorful leaves and others are totally bare.

Thank you. We had a lot of fun but now the piles were mowed over and mulched up so we have to wait for more leaves to fall.

We don’t believe in manual labor which is what yard work is. Mom enjoys raking a small pile here and there for us to enjoy.

What sisterly fun! Fall is fabulous for leave pile beds! Dad rakes them, then I bed down in them – snuggly warm! Yes, Olivia needs to be more graceful when she bombs your pile, but you two look so precious together. I miss having a playmate – SOMETIMES – but a leaf bomber would be too much for me – unless I was already laying down.

Olivia forgets her size and is always smushing me, but I’m pretty patient with her. She is 2 1/2 but still has a lot of puppiness.

The leaf romping sure looks like fun! We don’t get many of our leaves in the yard, they mostly go into the gutters!
We don’t get so many in the gutters thankfully. They are more fun on the ground anyway.
We love watching you and Olivia playing in your fall leaves, Madison. Our backyard is mainly full of soggy grass right now…

Oh, that is not as fun as leaves. We get wet paws in the mornings from dew some days and melted frost others.

For you a pile of dead leaves is certainly fun, for us humans less, you can easily slip and fall ! And it’s hard work to collect them. Fortunately i don’t have a garden anymore and have the pleasure to see them working.
We just mow over them and mulch them. Mom isn’t into raking them all up, too much work.
Goodness! That looks like terrific doggy fun. As a cat, I dislike getting my furs mussed, but Cinnamon says she would love to play aound in the leaves like you guys do! It is great to see you all playing together.
Kitties do tend to like to stay clean and orderly but we doggies, well, dirt and mess is our thing! Leaves are a lot of fun.
