Meet Poppy, our new Portuguese Water Dog puppy friend. She came over to visit us for a play date on Sunday. About a year and a half ago, we had another PWD puppy, Splash, over to visit. That time the weather was so hot, we didn’t really play. Sunday was ideal weather for us fur-coated friends to race, chase, and play! Bailie isn’t a fan of puppies. She came out, said hello, and rushed back inside.
Let’s get started with a look at this little cutie. She is a bit like a brown bear cub and getting photos of her eyes is tough. Like Olivia, she loves to chew on sticks. I think she is about four months old.
I got to meet her first. We all came out one at a time so we didn’t overwhelm her. Puppies are fine in my opinion, but I’m not totally crazy about them. We did some sniffing together and played some chase.
Amazingly, Olivia tried to ignore her at first. She is at that awkward age between a pup and an adult. I think she was trying to be mature but the puppy took over and she couldn’t help but play with Poppy.
Olivia’s wild pants started to take over and Poppy was all set to play. She has no fear of any of us at all. I guess she is one brave little girl.
I’ve loved the pine trees since I was a tiny puppy and being short, I still can run around under them without any trouble. I showed Poppy how to do it and she loves it as well. Olivia doesn’t fit underneath very well because she is taller, but the three of us played a lot of ring around the pine trees games.
Sometimes the three of us went running as a pack. Poppy is speedy and can keep up with us nicely.
Poppy and Olivia did a lot of chasing. Sunday night Olivia crashed hard and early!
Olivia has the crazy eyes when she is really having a good time. We always love to see them!
Every now and then I decided to join in the fun and play some chase myself. Olivia needs to take a break at some point.
Don’t ever count out a Portuguese Water Dog puppy in a game of chase, they are speedy! Watch out, Olivia! Poppy is about to grab you in your little behind!
It was a fun time for all three of us furs. Our moms were a bit chilled after an hour and a half of being outside with us, but dog moms know how to dress for dog play dates in the winter. They love to do that chit chat thing too. We hope to meet up with Poppy again soon so we can play some more chase games! We like her a lot and I think she likes us a lot too. Fun with friends makes us happy!
My GBGV Life is happy, so we’re joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
