Today I’m baking Thanksgiving cookies for dogs, specifically pumpkin and cranberry ones. Holidays have me wanting special treats, so why not make some healthy and tasty ones myself? Follow along as I show you how to make these cookies and grab the recipe at the end of the post.
The ingredients are simple. I’m definitely not one to make anything too complicated. You need whole wheat flour, fresh or frozen cranberries, oatmeal, pumpkin, NOT pumpkin pie pumpkin, and unsalted chicken or beef broth.
Ready, Set, Bake!
Grab yourself a big mixing bowl, spoon, and put all five of the ingredients into the bowl.
Mix the ingredients together well, until you can form a ball with the dough in your paws. If it is too dry, add a bit more of the broth, slowly.
Once mixed you will be forming the cookies to bake. Make sure and have a good taste of the dough first to make sure it tastes amazing.
When you are sure the dough tastes perfect, roll up the balls and place them on a lined cookie sheet. They don’t spread while baking, so you can place them close to each other. Beware, if you have a cat, he may be trying to sneak up and steal a ball of cookie dough. Cat bro Bert is trying such a move right now! He missed the memo about these being Thanksgiving cookies for dogs, not cats!
I was hoping the cookies taste just as good when they are on the cookie sheet, so I decided to perform another taste test. Of course, they passed!
Cookies are ready to bake in the oven. I can’t wait until they are done. Thank dog we are having cold weather. I can put them outside for a few minutes and they will be cool enough to taste.
Tasting The Pumpkin Cranberry Cookies
It takes almost an hour for the cookies to bake but it seems like a week. My cookies are out of the oven, cooled and are ready to be eaten. I know they are done as they darken and get crunchy.
Time to test my Thanksgiving cookies for dogs. Oh boy, they are amazing! Get the Pumpkin and Cranberry recipe and make a batch for your favorite pup! The recipe will make about thirty one inch balls. My sisters and I are thankful I dip my paws into cooking now and then because I can actually bake pretty well with simple recipes!

That cat can really get under my skin and I think it comes out in my eyes!
Oh, Bailie, those look so good! You are such a good baker. Yummy! XOXO Sparkle
They are good. Mom wasn’t sure I would like cranberries, but I do!
Oh, Bailie! YUM!!! I need to get my human busy on these!! You have such beautiful eyes!! Did I ever tell you that?
Chablis
Thank you, I think it is my eye liner π
can we use dried berries too? we probably have no fresh or frozen ones in our stores….
I’m sure you could use dried ones.
Oh those look YUMMY…..we will be extra good for the next few days so our mom will make us some; my nose knows there is already pumpkin and cranberries in the refrigerator!
Ha! good sniff work. Sounds like you are ready to make the cookies. Enjoy.
Oh those look so good. Your mom rocks. I know our Angel Little Bit would have loved these cookies.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
Mom wasn’t sure cranberries would be our thing, but we love them in these cookies.
They sure do look yummy. Even mom wants to reach for one and eat it, Bailie!
She may not like it as much as you would, but we pups sure love them.
awesome cookie cooker! Now if only I could find a cookie recipe for Lucy!
These cookies are quite tasty.
Those look YUMMY!!!
They are really good.
They do sound good, and i would imagine the ingredients wouldn’t be bad for cats, so maybe Bert could have a nibble, too. After all, it’s the holidays, you want to give him something to be thankful for, too.
He eats everything. Maybe he could have some without the cranberries.
Those do look fabulishious! We are looking for recipes for cookies for Cinnamon and Jewel and Lil Grrl and the Old Guy for Christmas we are adding this one to the list! THanks guys.
They are tasty and the cat seems to like them too but he eats anything.
Those sound yummy!! But Mom doesn’t like baking. She buys most of our cookies from Miss Jan, after Luke gives his paw of approval.
If someone doesn’t enjoy baking, they shouldn’t bake. Our mom loves cooking and baking and Bailie enjoys the self rewarding behavior of baking, so we do bake here.
Woof! Those look quite yummy. π
They are very yummy. We all just had one after being outside.
