I’m thankful I scored three Advent calendars for me and my sisters for this year. They normally sell out almost as soon as they are on the store shelf! Early in November, Mom and I were headed to Gramma’s house on a Wednesday when she said maybe we should check Trader Joe’s for Advent calendars. Just our luck, the shipment had arrived and the calendars were being put on the shelf. Mom grabbed three and said we are super lucky. A few days later friends of ours could not find them anymore.
Every year, I think for my whole life, Mom makes sure we pups have advent calendars. Some years she drives from store to store looking because they run out so quickly. Last year, she found these super pawsome, jumbo calendars with all kinds of good stuff behind the doors. Since my sisters are traveling during part of the Advent time, Mom wants smaller calendars and that is exactly what we have for this year.
Madison is also excited to have an Advent calendar, and one she can take along on the trip to Florida. It would be terrible to miss opening the doors for days on end.
Olivia can hardly wait to open the doors and get the salmon and sweet potato treats each day. They are individually sealed so they will stay nice and fresh. None of us are sweet potato fans, but with the salmon we wolf them down. I speak from experience!
Yesterday, December 1st, I opened the first door. See the nice treat, resting behind door one, waiting to be eaten?
Since the calendars are my project this year, I am testing them first. Can you tell from my zen state that my treat was super yummy? There is even some slobber on my muzzle!
As always, my tongue gives away what I am really thinking. I can’t wait to get another treat every day until Christmas! Not only are they super yummy, they are pretty healthy too.
Last buy definitely not least, there is a spot on the box for your pup to get some ideas of what to ask for this holiday season. Does your dog have an Advent calendar? If not, call around, maybe you can still find one.
My GBGV Life is joining Brianβs Home Blog in the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
oh that is da jackpot!!! we get none this year, because the mama bought a 12 days of christmas pawlendar this year… it starts at da christmss day and it is one you have to build up via diy….we see IT coming…hahahaha
We saw lots of the 12 days of Christmas stuff this year too but we like the regular Advent Calendar – more treats on more days!
Mom got one at Target! Now before you get too excited for us read that first sentence againβ one! There are two of us! She said because we can be finicky about treats β she wasnβt sure about buying two. I get todayβs. My brother got yesterday and ate it up. We will see what I think later today! Great post. Love that you get to travel with your calendar!! your friend Lilly
What? One! That is terrible. Mom always buys us each one and if someone is feeling too picky, someone else will eat the treat for that day. I guess every other day is better than no day, though. Hope you enjoy your treat today π
WOW, those calendars are wins fur sure and the yum looks like it was sure good! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Kitties might like them too as they are salmon and sweet potato.
Yes, we have an Advent calendar. It’s super huge and hanging on the wall. Mom can’t put treats in it because Puffin and I could easily reach them or tear the whole calendar off the wall! XOXO Sparkle
We would rip it off the wall right away. Ours are in the kitchen where we can’t get to them, not even long Olivia π
What a find and lucky for your mom, she got one for each of you girls!
We have to each have our own of most things.
You hit the advent calendar jackpot indeed. Good for you.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches all around and my best to your smart mom. β₯
Thank dog. We have had one for many years now and some years Mom really has to hunt to find one but sometimes they are just there like this year.
Oh my!!!! those treats look luscious – and Bailie’s face proves that they are!
Salmon and sweet potato. We don’t like sweet potato but we love it with the salmon!
Someone looks like they are in pure bliss with those yummy treats!!
We didn’t get the calendars this year but hopefully next year we can score some!
They had lots of them for cats but the dog ones were gone fast.
Oh, hooray! It’s always fun to celebrate Advent.
We always love our Advent calendars. A new surprise behind every door, every day π
This year we are trying out the BarkEats Advent Treat Calendars…so far so good! Each day they have a different treat!
xoxo,
Sunny and the Gang
Last year we had big fancy ones but with two of us traveling for almost ten days this year, we need something more portable. We love these treats and that is most important. Enjoy your BarkEats calendars
We wish that our Mom had got us Advent Calendars (she could not find any up here)…she says she will make sure we get treats each day though, but NO|THI|NG like what you ladies are getting! And we can tell by the blissful looks you are going to LOVE them!
Salmon and sweet potato is an excellent combination of flavors! Bummer you couldn’t find any Advent calendars in your area.
