Last year Mom started walking with me to look at holiday lights and inflatables. It is a lot of fun to see what is new and what all we can find! This penguin is pretty cute and they have the machine that casts the dots, so it looks a bit like colored snow. Don’t you love how my glowcollar is the same color as the penguin’s feet and beak?
Most of the lights and inflatables are only to be seen in the dark, thus lots of dark photos. Of course, there are exceptions like this let it snow sign. It is a long walk from our house which is why we decided to shoot it during the day. We sure do wish it would snow as it really gets the holiday spirit going. Grass and Christmas just looks wrong in Minnesota.
This house is starting to look a bit like the Griswald’s home in Christmas Vacation. We do like the lights but it is bordering on excess if you could see the inflatables out front too. To get a shot of the house, one has to be pretty close, thus, the inflatables are missing. We do kind of like the basic idea, though.
Some people have a pretty small house but huge inflatables! This Santa and Rudolph are really big. They look nice but they are almost as tall as the house.
Moving along, we found a group of homes that put up outdoor lights together. It is a lot more spectacular in person, but you can get an idea of the colors and all from our photo. We are taking all the photos with our phone because it would be too much to hall all the equipment along for the good camera so the photos are not perfect.
Here is Mickey Mouse. I took this photo for my sisters who are going to try to find Mickey in Florida this month. They really think they are going to go to Disney, but I know it is not dog friendly. I’m sure they will still have more than enough fun with all their other plans and competition.
For a lot of our photos we have to get up into people’s front yards. Mom doesn’t want to be seen. She always tells me, “fast in, fast out”. I do my part but when we took this photo, she tripped over a lanyard holding up the display and went tumbling. It is dark and she dropped and had trouble finding her black gloves in the process. We were not real speedy getting in and out for this one, but we did survive. The jeans are being washed due to the grass stain on the knee! Humans!
I’ve saved my favorite for last. Out of all the holiday lights and inflatables so far that we can actually take photos of, this one is my favorite. Isn’t this elf minion adorable? We’ve never seen a guy like this ever! Hope you enjoyed my little tour. We will see if I find any more good ones before everyone leaves for Florida.
The peeps in your neighborhood are really into it, Bailie! We love first picture as you and the penguin match beautifully with your orange!
I like the snowflake look in that photo too. There are tons of lights and inflatables around here.
wow that is super cute… we love the penguin… and we would like such a tour too… but we are not sure how it looks after… ;OO
Oh dear, you boys would need to be careful. Maybe go with our mom since she tried to take out the one display herself, LOL!
I love how you get into the Howliday displays, but sorry your mom fell. I sure hope you didn’t laugh at her! XOXO Sparkle
No, it was rather embarrassing but I don’t think anyone saw it besides me who remained sitting waiting for the photo.
I hope mom is ok. I love all the pictures. We donβt have Christmas lights in New York City!
That is a bummer. We love all the displays around the neighborhoods. I’m working on a visit to a big display, but Mom is busy since she is leaving in a week with my sisters, so I don’t know if we will make it there or not.
Wow what a well lit neighborhood!
There are lights everywhere in the area. I guess Minnesotans are more into it than other places.
Awe so many lovely ones!! I can’t do walks anymore cause of my arthritis so Mama takes me fur car rides to see da lights.
xoxo,
Matt (& Matilda)
Sorry to hear you can’t go for walks. Our late Kuvasz Katie had a lot of trouble walking her last months and fell a lot but she always wanted to keep walking. Mom carried her sometimes even though she was almost 80 lbs. At least you get to ride around and see things.
My favorite is you with the two snowman and the blue banner
How fun. I love all things Christmas. I love all things pups and all things kitties.
Have a fabulous day and weekend. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
We all make the howlidays a lot more fun π
Bailie! Wowzers! You have some terrific lights for us! Cinnamon and Mom usually walk around the village as there are a few Giswold wanna bes to look at and she has not been able to to that this year – yet! We hope you had an exciting week and that next week is marvellously happy! And enjoy your Advent treats!
We always enjoy the advent treats! Going out and looking for Christmas lights and inflatables makes the dark evening walks so much more fun!
We love this tour! Great pictures. That elf minion is adorable! Hey I need your help — do you believe this– mom has been kind of blue lately so she hasn’t been walking us. Isn’t that absurd? She says she isn’t motivated. If you get a chance — tell her to get walking. She will feel better and we will be appreciative!! Have a great day. your friend Lilly
Our mom feels blue if she doesn’t walk. Maybe switch things up a bit. Walk some different places, or drive somewhere for a more interesting walk. Walking is so wonderful for us pups and our humans. Fresh air should cheer her up!
WOW, that was a fun tour and y’all sure have lots of pretty decorations around!
Lots of people have displays up again this year and they are fun to find.
It is a good, fun time when we go looking at lights. These inflatables are fun, and i agree, i like the elf minion, too.
Finding all the lights and inflatables make our evening walk so much more fun, and we have goals to go places we don’t usually go on evening walks, just so we can find the displays.
What an awesome neighborhood you live in!! Daddy is missing our inflatables this year, so we loved seeing the ones around you!!
xoxo,
Rosy and the Gang
There are quite a few and many are close to houses, so we don’t dare creep up and take photos!
you sure have a festive place to walk! I agree about the one house being borderline excessive. I am GLAD you are ok from when you fell but it made me chuckle, most people would be rushing away if they were trying to steal an inflatable, YOU were trying to rush away simply because you were taking photos, silly woman!! xoxo
Mom gets embarrassed easily and would just die if anyone saw us and came out of their house!
