Christmastime in Wayzata is not as festive as Mom and thought it would be, but we still had a nice little walk around the main street area. The Wayzata Depot is where we like to park and they have this large train set out back. It only runs certain days and times, so I could sit here without disturbing anyone. I think it is closed in the winter as model trains can’t run in the snow and ice.
They have a big tree out front with lots of lights and a pile of presents. Do you see me looking out from behind the gifts? I am air scenting and I’m pretty sure I smell Christmastime in the air.
One of the big restaurants right on Lake Minnetonka has a pretty wreath where people enter. Mom has eaten there and says it is a good restaurant.
There is a park area along the lake now. No one was really out and about, so I got onto the bench for a photo with the lake behind me.
Another restaurant on one of the side streets has a small patio with tables and chairs. This tree is right in the corner of the patio.
All the little shops along the main street have big planters outside their doors. Most of them are the same but they do look nice.
Last but not least, the old theater has a decorated tree out front. It isn’t a theater anymore but thankfully they left the sign out front. Mom says she used to go there when she was a kid. Christmastime in Wayzata should be a bit more festive than it is, but there is a lot of construction. Maybe next year there will be more decorations.
My GBGV Life is joining Comedy Plus for some Wordless Wednesday fun.
we love this photo of you in this small world… that is fab!!!
Thank you. I bet you boys would love to get into the village and take it apart!
What a wonderful walk you had. I can smell Christmastime in the air too. My nose isn’t as good as yours, but I can smell it just fine.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
Christmas is definitely in the air right now!
Sorry you were a little disappointed in the decorations. At least you got to GO! My very mean mother went to Daytona Beach yesterday. She said Puffin and I could not go because they were going to Buc-ee’s and dogs are not allowed inside because they sell food! Then she went to the big Daytona Speedway because the have a drive through light display. We would have loved that. Mean Mommy! XOXO Sparkle
Bummer for you guys. I got to go to a walk through huge light display place last night with Mom and a friend, and I got to go into the restaurant too. It is a super dog friendly place I guess. Mom feels guilty leaving me next weekend, so I am getting extra spoiled.
Well, the decorations might not have been the best but at least you had a fun time with Mom!
Yes, I’ve been having some good mommy and me time recently.
What a fun adventure for you, Bailie! You took great photos and mom just loves that wreath!
My mom loves that wreath too, especially on the white picket gate.
Very nice pictures for a winter time trip. Enjoy getting extra time with your Mom this week!
I am enjoying lots of special time but I will miss her when she is gone with my sisters.
Thanks for the fun tour
Any time. I enjoy being the tour guide!
Thanks for sharing your walk with us!
I like it better in the summer as it is prettier, but in the winter I like it because not too many people are out and about.
Thank ypu for showing me your life today
Great photos! Looks like it was fun with mom! We took a walk on Sunday. That made us all happy. Have a good day! your friend Lilly
Mom is spending a bit more time with me because she will be going away with my sisters soon. I will really miss her, but I am so happy I don’t have to travel!
It looks like a nice walk anyway, i am glad for you that you get to smell Christmas in the air.
It’s amazing all the information we can get from some simple air scenting.
Love that restaruant’s Wreath! and the train, and of course YOU, Bailie!
Thank you. We found a few real nice decorations, but we had hoped for more.
It looks like it was nice and quiet for you to walk around and see things without being over run with people. Our Mom would like that (she’s not fond of crowds).
We avoid crowds when we can as Mom doesn’t like lots of people around. She was a flight attendant for many years, locked in a plane with tons of people and since then, she prefers a limited amount of humans.
Our town doesn’t decorate much either, that sure is one big Christmas tree you found!
xoxo,
Sunny, Rosy and Jakey
It is a bummer because it is such a fancy town right on the lake but they really missed the boat on decorations this time.
What an interesting adventure you had!
It was a nice little walk in the town. Hope next year they decorate more.
lovely and festive photos!
Thank you.
