We are starting 2022 with our new hands free bungee leash sets! You all know we love to walk and this year we have started to really love hands free walking, well, especially our mom loves it. It makes walking easier and when the bungee makes “impact”, it is easier on dogs and humans.
My GBGV Life received two hands free bungee leash sets from Mighty Dog to review. My GBGV Life did not receive any monetary compensation for this review. The opinions in this review are the honest opinions of My GBGV Life.
We saw Mighty Paw has some new hands free bungee leashes 2.0 in bright colors and we knew we needed to try them out. Anything bright is for us and we also can use more hands free leashes around our house. You may recall we tried their dual handle bungee leashes in the summer and like them a lot.
Walking One Dog
Our green and orange leash sets arrived right before we left for our Florida trip. We took them along to do our review in the sunshine amidst the palm trees. Each set has one adjustable belt and one leash.
You have three D rings where you can attached the four foot bungee leash. Two are stationary and the third moves allowing your dog to go from side to side as she likes.
If you need to use a regular leash, simply unhook the bungee leash from the waist belt and use it as a regular leash.Β Both the belt and the dual handle leash have reflective strips for better visibility in the dark too.
When your pup decides to suddenly run due to something like a squirrel sighting, the jolt is absorbed in the bungee part of the leash making it easier on you and your pup. These leashes are also ideal for running with your dog. They are designed by physical therapists who run with their dogs. The combination of an ergonomic waist belt with a force absorbing, strong bungee leash optimizes your posture and body mechanics while eliminating injury risk and fatigue.
Walking Two Dogs
Adding a second dog is a breeze. Each set has one belt and one leash, but you can add a second leash to the belt for walking with two dogs. The belt can hold up to 150 pounds. The leashes are 48 inches but will stretch out to 75 inches. Currently, you need to order a second leash set as the leashes are not sold separately. We hooked up our green leash to the orange set and started off. Having two of us, we used the D rings that didn’t move and it works really well.
It may be hard to believe, but sometimes we get out of hand on our walks which is when the traffic handles come in handy. Both the top handle and the traffic handles are padded which humans really like too. Mom likes having two colors of leashes so she knows who she is grabbing when she does grab a leash.
Winter Walking
The waist belt is easily to adjust and can be changed from 27 to 48 inches to accommodate a variety of sizes of people or the addition of a heavy winter coat.
Mom loves the Mighty Paw hands free bungee leash for winter walking. Her hands tend to get cold, but with hands free, she can put her hands in her pockets to keep them warm. People can also focus more on balancing when it is slick out rather then holding onto leashes.
We love the pretty bright leash colors as well as the options with the two handles and the ability to add a second dog. Some people are scared to try hands free leashes with their dog. Our mom said she would never try one but after she did, she says they are the best thing around! Stop by Mighty Paw and order up a new hands free leash set for you and your pup! You both will be glad you did!

Beautiful weather for nice hand free walks!!
It was nice in Florida, but we like walking in the cold and snow too.
Sounds very cool. I love the colors.
We love the bright colors too.
Those look awesome. We have hands free leashes and we take great delight in tangling our leases!!
Oh dear. Ours never really get tangled, thankfully.
It’s the perfect leash for you all! Enjoy! XOXO Sparkle
It sure is. We love walking hands free and the bungee saves us all!
Great review! I bought the Mighty Paw bungee leash on your recommendation and I love it! I also like the idea of hands free in the winter, so I don’t have to keep alternating my hands in my pockets to keep them warmer. I always felt like my dogs walked better on the hands free leash too, so maybe it’s time to give one a try again!
I think we walk better on hands free too and Mom has more control which sounds all wrong but it is true.
That’s brilliant. Wish those had been around when we still had our Little Bit.
I love it that mom is in a t-shirt and shorts. It’s so cold here.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
How nice it turned out better than your Mom was expecting and it sure looks like some fun walking time! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
We all walk better on these hands free bungee leashes than our regular ones and Mom likes it much better too.
Like Jan, I too bought a dual handle bungee leash from Mighty Paw on your recommendation. Our trainer (who we hired to help us with Bogie) showed us a way to teach Bogie to walk nicely on a loose leash that mimics having a leash belt. I think, once we have mastered that technique, Iβll buy one of these Mighty Paws hands-free leash sets for Bogie. Ducky is very good on a leash, so I can still use her regular leash for her walks.
Mom doesn’t work on loose leash walking as it happens naturally after a couple years and she doesn’t really care if we walk along side or not. But, the hands free leashes work much better than regular leashes for controlling us and she loves being able to have her hands in her pockets in the winter so they don’t get cold, especially when it is below zero out. That’s great you have worked with a trainer to get Bogie to walk the way you would like him to.
These look awesome – especially since you can concentrate on balance!
It is nice for humans to have their hands free to do other things besides holding leashes and they can keep them warm in pockets when it is cold out.
Mom says that she would love it but she can already seen the cartoons happening with me pulling and she’s racing to keep up or elseβΊ
LOL! Mom said about six years ago she would never try a hands free leash with her dogs because we all pull and lunge. Well, she decided to try one and has been hooked ever since. It really helps us all walk better and the bungee absorbs so much of our lunges, plus having the leashes around the waist it is almost like pulling against a tree. But everyone has to decide what is best for themselves and their dog.
You ladies look terrific and these leashes sound wonderful! Mom has been looking at them, but wants to ask, is there a jolt if one of your grrls unexpectedly goes after a squirrel? Mom has balance issues and worries about slipping on the icy streets if Cinnamon tries to take off.
Those look fabulous!
We really like them and Mom loves them. We almost always walk with hands free leashes now.
Wow! Mama really likes, not only the bright colors, but the fact they can be regular leashes in just an unclipping!
xoxo,
Sunny, Rosy & Jakey
They have lots of options and the handles are practical when using them hands free too. We like them a lot.
