Happy paws are very important if you are a dog! Here in Minnesota we have many days of below zero Fahrenheit temperatures but we still want and need to go outside. Our paws tend to get what we call, paw freeze, on these Arctic blast days. Mom says it is like an ice cream headache for humans only it is in our paws.
If it snows before such cold temperatures, then we have the added issue of chemicals on the road which also cause us a lot of paw pain. It is no fun to try to hop down the road on two or three paws, so we slip on our PAWZ boots. Mom has been using PAWZ on us for years, way back with Emma and Katie.
Katie was a much bigger pup, so she wore purple ones, the rest have always worn blue. Well, with my jumbo pillow paws, I don’t fit into blue, so I wear Katie’s purple ones. Even though the PAWZ look flimsy, they are pretty durable, especially if you keep your nails properly trimmed.
I won’t lie to you, none of us want to put on our boots. Mom has twelve to put on, so we do have a system. We don’t fight it, but we are not very helpful. Still, Mom slips them on pretty quickly and then we are ready to go. She spreads the top opening with her fingers and slides them right over our paws.
Once we are out the door, we forget we are even wearing shoes. Our happy paws don’t burn at all with our boots on. We walk, run, climb, do all the things we always do when we are out walking. We also wear them if we are out in the yard in the bitter cold as we get paw freeze there too. Make sure your pup has happy paws if she is out in the elements this winter! Cold and chemicals are both good reasons to wear some boots, like it or not.
My GBGV Life is happy, so weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
You are so good with those booties. We had some experience wearing them – walking in areas that Mom thought was a bit nasty – but we didn’t like wearing them at all.
We act weird when Mom puts them on, but the moment we start our walk, we forget all about them!
It’s very smart to wear your booties sweet girls then you can have fun and keep safe too. ENJOY the SNOW!
It’s no fun when our paws freeze, so we deal with the shoes.
Your a better person then me it takes me forever to get them on but with everyone thinking itβs going to snow sometime during a month salt starts being spread in Sept
I think because she has so many paws to put them on, she has the system down and we don’t fight to hard to keep them from being put on.
That is amazing and also very thoughtful.
Awww, thank you. Just protecting our paws.
You take such great care of your paws. No worries here in Florida with the cold, but hot asphalt in the summer…YIKES! XOXO SPARKLE
We get the hot asphalt too, but it doesn’t bother us much and we are big on off road anyway.
Yikes, that’s a lot of snow and just the other day you were wearing shorts and a t-shirt in Florida.
We tried to get our Angel Little Bit to wear booties but she said no. I’m glad you think of their paws. Your babies have such a great mom to watch out for them.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches all around and a hug to mom. β₯
Mom feels terrible if we start to hobble because a paw hurts in the cold, so she puts the shoes on us and we just deal with it. One has to give it time and the dog will adjust.
this boots are mae for walking and your paws are well protected…
You are so right, and now we have an ear worm!
WOW! just in time! Happy Pawz! I’m sending mom out to get blue ones!! Thank YOU !
Most likely you would need blue. I’m the big foot in the family so I get the purple ones.
What a great Mom you are ~ sweet paw boots ~ and sweet photos of adorable doggies ~ Xo
Wishing you a sweet day,

Thank you. We need to keep our paws in good shape because we need them!
I used to put a PAWZ boot on Shadow’s paw when she tore or broke a nail…I cleaned it up with Epsom salts, dried it, put a baby sock on her paw, and then covered the sock with the bootie to go out in the yard.
There are a lot of good uses for the PAWZ boots, that is for sure!
Smart Mom to get those boots for you! Enjoy your day!
Your mom is smart and you girls will have even more fun outside when your paws are protected from the freezing cold temps!
We don’t like putting them on, but once we are walking we don’t mind them at all and it is much better than our paws freezing up!
Coda doesn’t like it and tries to step out of them. It’s funny to watch.
We use a different kind, and mostly in the summer because those paws can get burned easily on hot surfaces with our very hot weather.
Funny how some have it too hot, some too cold! We are not fans of our shoes but once we start walking we forget all about them and they work great for us.
Mom LOVES your shoes! The before hairy slobbery sisters (Bob and Sam) wore shoes, but they lived where it was a whole lot colder than it is here. Cinnamon will NOT wear them. Thus she did not get too many walks when we -25c (-13f) for 10 days. Mom would take her out and she would get to the corner and then they would come home — Cinnamon would be trying to walk on 2 legs. She has been enjoying it this week as it has been warmer (and snowier – we have had about 12 inches of snow). She loves to “help” Mom shovel.
We don’t really want to wear the shoes but once they are on and we start walking we forget all about them. In the below zero zone which we are in a lot right now, Mom can’t have us hopping around because our paws hurt. Bummer Cinnamon won’t wear them.
