Mom and I walked around Hilloway park on the weekend. We haven’t been there in several months, and maybe we should not have gone last weekend. It was very wet, with lots of mud, but we decided to just keep walking anyway.
The last time we were there we did notice there were a lot of dead trees. It seems like they are starting to do a lot of work on the trees this spring. Still there are plenty of fallen trees for me to play around on. I enjoy working on my core and balance.
In another part of the woods there were a lot of small pine trees. We don’t know if they are planted there or just got started from the bigger pine trees around the area.
This stump is a real mess. I think it has been here for a long time but I can climb on it and stand on it.
There is one main trail that passes through Hilloway park but there are a lot of small trails people have made that cut through different parts of the woods. Mom and I like to walk on those trails because it is more fun.
Some of the trees have been in the woods for years I think. This pile here is completely covered in moss. Early spring is so ugly around here, at least the bright green moss adds some color to the woods.
Along the main path they seem to be doing the most work removing trees. This pile here is one of those areas. I’m sure we will be back here for a walk later in the year when everything is all cleaned up and green. We always enjoy getting out for walks even when the weather isn’t the best.
We are joining our friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard is for their Nature Friday blog hop.
we love this place and we are always happy if we are alone in a park…
We love having places all to ourselves too.
Great way to exercise, Bailie. Be cautious on going on those side trails because some of us are direction challenged. Have a happy weekend! XOXO Sparkle
Mom is very good at getting lost, but she knows how to be careful when need be.
It is almost camouflage for you for you in these woods right now, we think that makes for very lovely photos …
It is kind of camo out there.
That was a lovely walk. I’m SO looking forward to being allowed out for walkies in the woods. Only two weeks to go! Gail says there are times of year when we depend on moss for green colours here too.
Toodle-oo!
Nobby.
Puppies need to wait a long time so they don’t damage their joints. You will get there soon enough.
Terrific photos sweet girl and I’m sure they will those trees all cleaned out before too long!
I think they will too.
Lovely walk! you never fail to disappoint me with your stumping! Love the moss-covered tree shot!
I enjoy being stumped, LOL!
The small pine trees are so cute! Our grass is turning green and growing and soon it will be time to start cutting it for the next 6 months so be careful what you wish for?!
The snow is almost melted from the past few days. Hopefully things will dry out and green up a bit soon.
Hilloway is a great name…OMDs I love how well balanced you are too
Hugs Cecilia
I’m a well balanced girl.
Itβs amazing how a bad a winter can damage trees and itβs certainly amazing how fabulous spring brings him back to life.
No life here yet as we have had snow the past few days, but eventually things will turn green.
I love going on nature walks with you, your siblings and your mom. Such fun.
Have a fabulous day and weekend. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
We love to have fun on our walks.
What a fun walk…and looks like you did a great job keeping the mud off of your paws!

I did pretty well, and what mud there was fell off walking down the road back to Gramma’s.
Thank you for sharing these lovely pictures
Have a fun weekend!
A slightly muddy walk can be fun, too.
It doesn’t bother me at all, but Mom is not a fan of mud for some reason.
Even if it was a little muddy, we are glad you and Mom got to enjoy the park, Bailie. We bet itg will be so nice when they get all that stuff cleared away.
It is a work in progress but that is necessary.
