I was simply worn out after a serious weekend of sniffing. Madison and I spent all day Saturday and Sunday at a Scent Work Trial. This means we get up at 4 am to be there on time because Mom volunteers to help run the trial. We hang out all day and we each get to do a lot of sniffing. When we get home, we usually have dinner and crash out. This was the case last night as well! As soon as Mom turned back the bed, I hopped in and got busy sleeping.
Sniffing may seem simple but for dogs it is exhausting mentally. I’m now at the highest level of AKC Scent Work which means I have some really tough puzzles to solve. Not only is my wonderful nose busy, but my brain is too. I’m always learning more about how odor travels and it is my job to find the source. Mom’s job is to understand how I work and to call a hide when I find one. We both work really hard as a team.
My jumbo pillow paws get tired too, carrying me around all day. I also snore a lot and loudly when I’m really worn out. I kept Mom awake Saturday night with my snoring. My batteries are now recharged and I’m ready for the start of a new and very busy week.

how great that you reloaded your batteries! we are always in the bucket after such a weekend too… but there is monday what is the best day to sleep ;O)
We have to reload as sniffing takes a lot out of us.

Mom was pretty tired to as she was working at the trial when she wasn’t competing with us.

Thank you. Mom says it is like when she lived in Germany and would get a new job. She was worn out mentally from all the thinking.
Poor you ! Instead having a good nap on a nice bed you have to run around and sniff ! Really I pity you !
I know. We all have such a hard life!
Dogs will certainly let you know when they need a nap or they are ready to retire for the evening.
Sometimes we disappear at night and Mom finds us in bed.
