Time for Easter eggs! Don’t forget to make some colored eggs for this weekend. I love eggs. If the egg timer goes off, I always hear it and I come racing to the kitchen. Eggs are so tasty. Of course, you will need eggs for this project, and I love to use my chicken Henrietta. She has been cooking our eggs since before I was born.
Henrietta comes apart so I can put up to seven eggs in her for cooking. When she is done with the first batch, she Call out a special signal to me so I know I need to come and grab the eggs. My sisters are going to be coloring the eggs, but they are not good at using Henrietta. It is best if I cook the eggs for them to dye.
This chicken is pretty quick and before you know it, the eggs are done and I cool them in cold water. Mom picked up a coloring kit for my sisters to use. I think we are ready to call in the coloring team.
Since Madison is short, she can’t work if things are on the kitchen counter or island. I set her up with Olivia at the kitchen table with a waterproof table cloth. You know there will be colored water all over the place. I like to keep the table safe/sister proofed. We have five colors – yellow, purple, orange, blue, and green.
Olivia is a sports dog, but is not much good in the kitchen. Madison is in charge of putting the eggs into the color holders. I am afraid Olivia might just grab and eat an egg. She is that kind of a girl! The water has some vinegar in it with the color. Olivia tried to drink it but that didn’t go over well with her taste buds.
Waiting is boring but the eggs have to sit in the dye for a while, otherwise the color will not be dark enough. Since we have a dozen eggs we will be doing three batches of coloring.
Finally, the first Easter eggs are ready. They are pastel and we all think they look great! Since my sisters will be traveling on Easter, they can take some eggs along on their trip. The rest of the eggs will be safe here at home
in my belly, I mean, with me. Have you colored eggs for Easter yet? Happy Easter Weekend!
I need a Henrietta! Mom makes hard boiled eggs for me all the time but sadly, we won’t be coloring them. You girls are so creative and your colored eggs are so pretty and will taste even better with colors shells!
Henrietta is a must for us. Mom says it makes it so easy to hard boil eggs, and I can hear that timer from a mile away, so I know when eggs are ready.
Such fun you girls have!
We love fun!
Those will be so festive for this weekend!
Easter colored eggs are a must.
we got no colors this year in our stores… but we can watch you… that’s super too… and your eggs look eggs-cellent ;O)
I can’t wait to eat them. I love eggs.
Mine Mommy says they are lovely, but she’d rather have “peeps ‘n’ chocolate”.
Well dogs can’t eat those things but we love to eat eggs.
We have a very plain egg cooker, and it’s not at all fancy. Boring! Happy Easter, Bailie! XOXO Sparkle
At least you have one. Now you can color eggs.
Aw, look at all of you. Love those bunny ears. So adorable.
Have a fabulous day and weekend. Scritches all around and a hug to mom. Happy Easter. β₯
We love our bunny ears this time of the year.
Y’all did a grand job coloring those eggs!
We love coloring eggs each year.
looks like so much fun! we love to color eggs, too! Love, Jack Parker the English Setter, aka GCH Birdhaven Master & Commander at Phenom (such a fancy name….I prefer Jack!)
Eggs that are colored taste better on Easter.
Great job, girls! Since i don’t have small children any more, we din’t color eggs. When we did, i’d spread newspaper on the porch, dress them in play clothes that they could get stained and it wouldn’t matter, and let them have at it. Fond memories.
It is rather messy, but we love it anyway.
What beautiful eggs, Bailie! That Henrietta sure is cute too!

You guys should color some eggs for Easter too. They go so well with bunny ears.
OH my dogs you have you very own egg producer. Henrietta is quite talented. OMDs I found a yellow plastic egg hiding in the mondo grass around our mailbox. We didn’t put it there. We are thinking some buddy on the cul-de-sac might be having an Easter Egg hunt tomorrow.
Hugs Cecilia
Hope you had a wonderful Easter.
