Sunny Vale Park near Wausau, Wisconsin is a great place to stop and stretch our legs. We first stopped there when I was a puppy and Bailie had a trial in Appleton. One other time we also stopped for a short walk on our way to Green Bay.
There are some longer trails, but we like to do the shorter one right around the lake. With Mom’s sense of direction, or lack of it, we wouldn’t want to get lost! Some parts of the trail are asphalt, but mostly they are grass trails.
The water in the lake is crystal clear but we didn’t get to take a dip. There is a stairs down to the beach, and a sign saying no dogs. Such a bummer! On the other hand, Mom doesn’t like wet dog smell in the car.
If you like to fish, the fishing pier is perfect for that. I bet you can see the fish swimming over to your hook because of the clear water. We don’t fish, so we wouldn’t know about that.
It was in the low sixties out when we took our half hour walk at Sunny Vale Park. The sun was out, and we actually got pretty warm as you can see by our tongues. It’s been so cold at home, we are not used to the warmer weather. After our walk, we were ready to grab a drink, a snack, and motor on to our hotel in Shawano.
We are joining our friends at Living Laughing and Barking in Our Backyard is for their Nature Friday blog hop.
we love this place… and to have it nearly for yourself is a great thing…
We’ve had lots of luck avoiding crowds on our travels.
What a great place to stretch your legs! Happy weekend. Nelson’s very first weekend with his family. XOXO Sparkle
It will be boring for him, but he will learn about sports events and what to do when you are not competing.
That looks such a great place to stop. Nice temperature too. And you guys are such good posers. (Gail keeps trying to get me to ‘pose nicely Nobby please’ when we’re out and about, but I always find there’s some interesting smell nearby and find it near impossible to sit still!)
Our new little brother is always moving too. Yesterday, Mom taught him to sit and now we are working on stay so he can do better photos with us.
Great photos! Great place to stretch your legs — but where is baby boy? We are so excited to see him grow up and become a part of your lives. have a great Friday your friends Lilly and Chester
Nelson wasn’t living with us yet. The walk was last weekend two days before we got him. Don’t worry, he will plaster himself all over the blog in no time.
Fabulous photos and I am 100% sure I need to take a road trip to Sun Valley Park and possibly even have a picnic on the dock
Hugs Cecilia
It is a very pleasant spot.
Can I be adopted by you guys. You do such fun things
I think with Nelson, we are pretty much at our family limit, but you could visit.
What a fun place. Your mom takes you to the nicest places.
Have a woof woof day and weekend. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
She just loves traveling around with us.
Looks like you are having great fun ~ sweet photos of you dear fur persons ~ Xo
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

It was such nice weather and we were ready for some exercise after several hours of driving.
Another weekend outing in such a pretty location. Hope there are lots of good sniffs in that park.
There were some good smells there for sure.
Happy sniffing! You look all set!
I did a good job of sniffing that next day.
We absolutely love that last shot with the lake in the background. You girls have the bestest adventures!
We love to be out and about to see and explore new places.
What a beautiful park! We have family near Wasau. We’ve never been there, but Angel Arty got to visit and said it sure is beautiful(although it was snowy when he was there)!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Sunny
There was snow on the big hill they call a mountain when we passed through too. Mom has stopped to eat in Wausau but that is about it. You should visit some time.
That looks like such a nice place for a visit and the water sure does look inviting. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I hope Nelson is adjusting.
Nelson has made himself at home and is super wild since yesterday, but he is fun and having fun which is what matters.
that looks like a lovely park!
It is a nice place to stop when we are driving that way.
That looks like a perfect stretch your legs stop on a road trip.
Not too long of a walk, but a good place to get out of the car for a bit.
That looks like a pretty place to stretch legs…all four of them! π Have a furrtastic week, furriends!
We do have to stretch all four of them, LOL!
When I hear Wisconsin I have to think about our many holidays there as my aunt lived in Madison. I loved Wisconsin Dells and the lakes it’s a beautiful State and the two doggies are very cute too ! Thank you so much to comfort me I really appreciate !
We pass by Madison and the Dells a lot when we travel for dog sports. How fun that you have been there!
