I stole the FastCAT show once again. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday we went to Rochester, MN for FastCAT. It’s just an hour drive so we didn’t need to spend the night or anything. Their kennel club runs a very efficient trial and we had our sights on some big titles.
This was also the very first sports event with our family of four pups. Madison, Bailie, and I were running FastCAT, and Nelson was along to learn about how trial days work. Madison and I had the back seat as usual, Bailie has her crate in the back, and to keep Mr. Mischief out of trouble, he had a kennel spot next to Bailie. This is the best shot we could get of the four of us.
The weather the entire weekend was wonderful. Mom signed us up for early runs so it wasn’t too warm which is super nice. I like to think the blue fencing signifies winners and I want to be a winner!
Nelson, Madison, & Bailie
Nelson got some experience walking around a new area, meeting people and dogs, and Mom brought some hides along so he could do some nose work in a new place too. He got lots of attention and was told a million times about how adorable he is.
Madison took a really bad trip and fall on her first run. The plan was for her to get the first FCAT title ever for a GBGV on Saturday morning. The dreams were left on the track as she hobbled off. She is feeling better but Mom still wants her to take it easy.
Bailie had a great first day. She ran some great times and she didn’t throw up at the start line. Usually if Mom leaves her with a stranger she gets sick but not this time. Bails still needs a lot of points for her DCAT but she is on the way.
Olivia’s FastCAT Show
I had planned to get my FCAT Title Sunday morning, a day after Madison, but now the first GBGV to get an FCAT Title could be me. My runs were pretty good, and I had so much fun. I just love running after the lure. Sunday morning they added a squawker to the lure. It is basically a stuffie that squawks as it goes down the track. Boy does that make things even more fun!
Yes, my first run of the day, my first squawker run, and my FCAT Title. What a morning! My ribbon is really big, and they even made a sparkly name ribbon just for me!
There was a lot of wind, so it was hard to find a place to take ribbon photos. So much ribbon loves to blow around. We decided to take my photo at the little old cabin.
I’m super happy about my new title and being the first GBGV, but it is a bit sad because Madison really deserved to be the first. We also had planned on taking our FCAT photos together as we started FastCAT together two years ago and we have earned our other titles on the same weekends. Hopefully Madison will be able to get her FCAT in June.
The Celebration
On the way home Mom said we should celebrate. We stopped at the Three Dog Bakery to get some good treats. Mom let Nelson pick out the treats. It was his first time to the bakery, and he loves it there. He is a real food guy!
He chose these little donut shaped cookies dipped in vanilla yogurt for us all. We each got to have two and they were super tasty!
Overall, it was a fantastic weekend except for Madison. Hopefully she will heal quickly and be back to earn her title next month. For now, I am celebrating my success!
My GBGV Life is happy, so weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
congrats you are simly the best and that is a reason to celebrate!!! and we send hugs and potp to madison we hope some rest will do the trick…
We all hope Madison will be able to run and get her title next month.

All i can say is, what a weekend! Lots of congratulations for the good parts and prayers for Madison to heal up and get back on the track.
