On our way home from Rochester Saturday, we stopped to see the Zumbrota Covered Bridge. It was built in 1869, the covered portion was added in 1871, and it is the only remaining covered bridge in Minnesota. We’ve been to many covered bridges in Iowa, so we wanted to see on in our home state.
My GBGV Life is joining Comedy Plus for some Wordless Wednesday fun.
The covered bridge is beautiful and we see that it’s just for walking – no driving through it. Great picture of the three of you!
No driving anymore. Originally you could drive through but it needs to be preserved.
I love covered bridges – they’re so “cool”!!
They have become a “thing” for us in our travels the past couple of years.
There are 33 covered bridges in my state (New York) and I haven’t been to one of them! (I’ve been to several in Vermont, though.) Alana ramblinwitham
We didn’t know MN had any but I guess we found it! Iowa has quite a few and we have seen most of them. They are fun to find.
Lovely. And interesting.
A bit of history.
We love covered bridges too. We always stop and explore. I love how you showcases your pups with the bridge. So precious.
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Scritches to the furbabes ad my best to your peeps. β₯
Thank you. A covered bridge wouldn’t be the same without some hounds posing along with it.
we love this bridges… they are so special and it’s great that you showed your brother the one in your state :O)
One day he may get to some other ones in Iowa.
looks great!
It’s well kept.
I loved covered bridges. Thanks for sharing.
They are fun to find on our travels.
I really do love a covered bridge!! This one is a beauty too. Thank you for the side trip and your pose
Hugs Cecilia
You are welcome. We enjoy finding fun things even when we don’t travel very far.
It looks like Nelson is going to tower over his “big” sisters. He’s almost their size now, and those paws!
We think Bailie will always be the biggest and Nelson will be around Olivia’s size.
I love covered bridges. We have some in Bucks County Pennsylvania and 1 in the town I live in. Nelson sure is growing fast! How is Madison’s leg?
I think we need to look for more of the bridges in other states. Nelson is growing like a weed but a very cute weed. Madison’s leg seems to be doing pretty well.
You three look very cute with that cool bridge!
Thank you.
What a pretty bridge!!!
Mama has a thing for Covered Bridges…Arty and Dory visited a lot of them in their lifetimes…I sure hope we get to see a few too!

We kind of got hooked in Iowa, but now we know there are a lot more out there we will need to visit.
It’s beautiful and so are you!
Thank you.
I love the covered bridges. When we took a Canada and New England cruise we saw several. Some were a bit dilapidated (meaning the coach couldn’t drive over some of them!) but others were in lovely condition.
The majority of the ones we found are historical sites and no one is allowed to drive over them anymore. It is a good thing to preserve them.
It looks even better wif y’all in front of it.
Awww, thank you.
I can’t say I’ve crossed a covered bridge before but the one in your photo looks lovely. I don’t think there are any in my corner of the world.
Happy Thursday!
We are discovering them around our world and they are fun to find.
reminds me of The Bridges of Madison County!
We’ve been to those bridges and also to a port a potty there too.
