We earned a second place ribbon, but overall, it was a tough nose work weekend for Team Orange. We were just a couple miles from home at the Hasse Arena. Saturday I had an Elite Trial, and Sunday a Level 3 Vehicle trial.
Most of all, we were looking forward to our Elite Trial. When we watched the search area videos in the morning Mom said the one search would be perfect for us. It was five rooms down a long hallway. We had five minutes to find what we could and once we left a room, we could not go back in. I’m fast, and Mom and I both love to run. We got to do both, and it earned us a second place in this search. I’ve earned third place before, but never a second! This makes us very happy.
Two of the other three searches were fun, but I missed a hide in each one. Mom says I can’t keep missing a hide, so we will practice harder. For one of the searches there was a photographer. This is me trying to get it, but I’m too short. See the metal up above my nose? That is where the hide was. We found five of the six hides in this search which was along side of the hockey rink.
This search was also the first of the day, and Mom and I left the search area feeling pretty happy (and orange). We did purchase these photos for our own use from the photographer. It’s a bummer there are not more photos of me searching.
The last search of the day was a complete disaster, not only for us, but for most teams. We didn’t earn as many points as we wanted to, but we still placed twelfth out of thirty teams. Sunday was just a mess and we quit half way through our vehicle trial. It wasn’t our weekend and we decided to do something else for the rest of the day.
Now we have some time off for practicing and regrouping before we hopefully start trialing again mid to late July. At least the second place ribbon was a really nice surprise for us!
My GBGV Life is joining Brian’s Home Blog in the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
congrats to da second place… we know you will work and the next event is yours where you will win efurrything they have to win .. sure ;O)
We hope to do better at least. No one did really well at this one, but still we should have been better.
Congratulations to you and your mom, Olivia! Love that photo of the two of you together♥
Thank you. We love our team orange photo too 🙂
Some weekends are the bomb and others not so much. You work hard and when things don’t turn out as planned you work harder to get better. It’s the way of life. You sure are cute though.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches all around and a big hug to your hard working mom. ♥
We can’t always be on our best game, and we did earn a 2nd place which is a new accomplishment.
Great job on the 2nd place Team Orange. We know you can regroup and do a great job next time!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Sunny
We have a month or so to practice and we will work harder next time.
Your always number one in my book!
Awww, thank you. Mom says we have to remember, most dogs couldn’t do what we do, so right there it is special that we have our success.
We can’t win all the time.
No, but it would be nice. Mom and I like to win.
We know that some days have occasional ‘off-days’. Hopefully, you will come back stronger and better!
We have a break now so we can regroup and come back stronger.
Well hooray and congrats for the Second Place win and that nice big ribbon! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
We are excited about our first second placement but we need to do better still.
Second place is impressive- congratulations!
We loved that search so much, it is a perfect award for that.
Congrats on your 2nd Place ribbon!!
Thank you.
Everybody has an off weekend now and then, but if your slightly off is second place, you are doing an astoundingly amazing job!
No one had a very good trialing day that day, but still that is no excuse. We should have done better and we will next time.
Luv that Team Orange photo!
We do too 🙂
