Nelson had some photo practice on the weekend. My sisters and I were doing sports at the Summer Solstice Event in Cambridge at the Isanti County Fairgrounds. Nelson came along but had nothing to do and got pretty bored. Mom decided to take him on some walks when she had a few spare minutes and they he could work on sitting for photos.
They did most of their photos on Saturday when it was hot and humid out. This way, they didn’t have to walk so much and Nelson could use mental energy learning to stay put. The fairgrounds has a history center with a couple old buildings that are ideal for photos. This photo is kind of feminine, but Nelson posed anyway.
Minnesota is heavy on Sweden and Swedish tradition, so a photo at the Swedish house is a must. It is kind of humorous that Nelson is a puppy and all the chairs are small chairs.
One of the old homes has this odd fence. It looks like it is made out of antlers, but it is really sticks. Nelson had to hold still and ignore people walking by behind him. He did a pretty good job.
This last one is the one we like best. His photo practice sessions seem to be working well for him. Mom had fun walking him around, taking photos and letting him meet new people and dogs. It still was a long weekend for a puppy, but he did survive!

Mom has asked me to sit on chairs and benches and tree stumps outside and I am not nearly as willing as you are. Great job!
My sisters say it is something our family does and if we cooperate, we are done quickly, so I’m trying my best.
P.T. on the box ~ Photo Time? All such cute photos of you Nelson, and you are certainly learning your lessons well.
Mom says I’m pretty smart and I learn things really quickly, some without even being taught. I pick stuff up from my sisters.
Nelson OMDs sweet friend. You excelled at your poses today and that smile. Should you need to pick a favorite color, Yellow would be perfect. Have I mentioned lately how I love your chestnut brown ears?
Hugs Cecilia
We are all waiting to see if my chestnut ears remain that color or fade out. I guess they say in the next six months we will know. Mom loves my long ears too. I like them, but they are a tripping hazard at the moment.
Good for Nelson!!! And good for Mom!! How did YOU girls do in the trials??
Stay tuned tomorrow for the weekend results π
Nelson is so handsome, and he is such a good boy! XOXO Sparkle
Uh oh, do you have a crush on a young fellow? He is pretty cute, but then again he is a puppy and they are always cute.
Oh Nelson, you are such a good student! You are doing so well with your photo sitting lessons! Bravo!! I love your smile, too! Such a happy young lad!
I’m happy most of the time, although both days at the event I did some screaming in the afternoon because I was really tired of the kennel thing. Everyone says when I can start trialing it will be more fun. I hope so.
we agree the last one has THIS something what wil catch our eyes immediately… but all photos of you are great dear Nelson
Thank you. I do my best to model well, but it isn’t easy sitting still.
You should come and stay with me while Mom takes the otherβs sporting.
After the first day, she says she would have left me home the next day but our sitter was not available. Soon I will be trialing and it should be more fun.
You’re getting with the program right off the bat. I’m sure your siblings have helped with that too. You’re sure handsome, Nelson.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
My sisters give me pointers like just do what she asks so we can get a photo and be done. I’m picking up on that one.
Nelson you have the easiest way to learn – just watch your sisters! You are absolutely adorable.
I do learn a lot from them, good and bad stuff according to Mom.
Good work baby boy!! You sure are learning. We bet you were tired after all that practice. have a great day your friends Chester and Lilly
I was tired but more bored. Two long days in a kennel is not very exciting.
Nelson is growing up so quickly!! He’s doing a little better every day at his modeling duties!

He is a good student and catches on to things pretty quickly.
I think he did an incredible job and the scenery in each photo is wonderful!
I’m getting better at it every day!
You did a wonderful job Nelson and such wonderful photos too!
Thank you. I’m working hard on all my learning.
He’s a good, quick learner, that’s a good sign!
He picks up on things really quickly.
Wow, what a great setting for picture taking! And it looks like Nelson did well on his sit/stay work.
