Madison stole the FastCAT and Barn Hunt show over the weekend. Mom took all four of us to Cambridge for the Summer Solstice Event where they have a dog show, dock diving, disc dog, fast cat, and barn hunt. Mom has gone for years but missed the last two. Except for Nelson who is too young, we all had at least one event to compete in Saturday and Sunday. It was a lot of work and Mom was exhausted Saturday night, but Sunday went much better.
Bailie is working on earning her DCAT Title this year. She did the maximum, two FastCAT runs each day and did really well. The track is slightly uphill, so all the dogs run slower than on a flat course but Bailie was in the seventeen mph range on three of her four runs. She still needs a lot of points, but she will get there.
Olivia is the crazy one. She did well on her two barn hunt runs Saturday, but didn’t even try on Sunday. Mom will keep working on it with her. As for FastCAT, she is still the #1 GBGV in the US, and she shows it. She got good points in all four of her runs and was about one mph slower than usual because of the incline. The photo is the speed of her fastest run Saturday. Usually she runs twenty two mph. Sunday she was so crazy wild at the start, she broke loose from the release person and had to redo her first run! No manners, but she does run fast.
I’m happy to say my leg that I injured in my first run of the year last month has healed. This weekend I completed all four of my runs and earned my FCAT Title, finally! This club gives out medallions and not ribbons. I’m the first one in our family to get a medallion, so this is exciting for me too! Now I can run FastCAT and work on my FCAT2 Title, but will be running more, just for fun.
In Barn Hunt, I’m working on my Crazy 8’s Bronze Title. Mom and I checked my points and found that I needed 100 to earn my title. I’ve done fourteen Crazy 8’s runs and have only earned more than thirty points twice. We agreed I will get this title at another trial. Well, no way, Jose! Friday, I earned fifty points and then Sunday with one second to spare I found the rat I needed to earn another fifty points and earn my Crazy 8’s Bronze Title, CZ8B. Mom is totally amazed and proud of me, and I am proud of me too. I’m the first GBGV to earn this title. Actually, I’m the first GBGV to earn most of the Barn Hunt Titles. I love the big pretty ribbon I earned!
Along with my ribbon, I also received a stuffed reindeer. Since I don’t play with toys like this, I decided to give it to Nelson. He is a super cute toy, though. Nelson really loves the toy and it makes him feel better after having to be with us all weekend.
The FastCAT and Barn Hunt show was mine to achieve, and I did it. What a fun weekend it was, and so much success makes it even better!
My GBGV Life is happy, so weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
congrats!!!!! and that’s so nice to give the reindeer to your bother… you are the best sister for a little pup ;O)
Well, if I don’t need it, he can have it for being so patient for us all on the weekend.
Congratulations to all of you for a wonderful weekend!
Congratulations all around! You are so sweet to give your stuffed reindeer to Nelson, Madison.
Thank you. The poor guy had to hang out with us all weekend, and he loves toys, to it was an easy decision.
How kind of you, Madison, to give your toy to Nelson. That just shows the kindness star in you! Not fair, Bailie, that darn incline. Olivia, what’s with the wild and crazy pants? We are glad you all had a fun albeit exhausting weekend. XOXO Sparkle
Bailie ran her first FCAT run at the same place in 2019, but Mom didn’t remember the incline. It isn’t much, but it does slow times by 1-2 mph. We still did well and got points.
HUGE congraduations to all of you girls ( Mom included); and Yeah Nelson, at least you got a consolaton prize for beng a good boy.
Mom was super happy with the results of the weekend, especially my 100 pts in Barn Hunt Crazy 8’s as that was not something we ever imagined. Saturday was tough but we did still have fun.
Wow! You guys are really amazing every time I read oβclock I get more and more impressed.
Awww, thank you. We all just do what we love and some sports or days are better than others. Barn Hunt and FastCAT together is what I just love and I do well with the combo.
