Today the little fellow in the family is seven months old, that is me, Nelson! Mom says she was never sure how it would be for her having a male dog, but I tell you, she is totally wrapped around my big paws!
For my seven month photo shoot I got to go on a mommy and me outing, which is always a lot of fun. Living with a bunch of girls is not always easy, but being alone with Mom is really nice. We found a nice park to take some shots of me. I’m learning to stay put and to pose for the camera. In case you don’t remember how I used to look, check our post from when Mom brought me home.
For me, doing a nice sit/stay and come when called is pretty easy these days. Above, I’m sauntering over to Mom, sniffing a bit along the way.
Mom says I am growing like a week. I’m over fifteen inches now at my withers, and around thirty eight pounds. At our house, being fit is important, so I do my best to workout and keep my body in good shape. Being a puppy, I am limited as to what I can do, though. Lately we are working hard on “stand” for my show career. I’m getting better at it all the time.
Games are always fun, like chase or keep away. Mom thinks chess might be good for the mind. I had a look but decided it isn’t something I would be interested in.
The weather was cool the day we did my photo shoot. Mom says it feels like fall, whatever that means. Anyway, there are these snowball bushes like the ones we have at home at the park. We took my photo there to get our minds focused on winter. I really hope it is cold and snowy so I can experience it. Last year I was a tiny puppy and very young in the winter. I was also in Missouri which doesn’t have the same kind of winter as Minnesota.
As I start my seventh month of life as the little fellow in my family, I have a lot to think about. What will my future be like? How will I do in sports? Will I be a good show dog? Can I deal with living with three sisters? It is a lot for a young man, but I know I can handle it and I think my life is going to be more fun the older I get!
My GBGV Life is joining Brianβs Home Blog in the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Nelson, you found a great home and family just like I did. You get to do a lot more outings than I do. I should be in Atlanta with her. She talked to me and Puffin last night and this morning. We loved it. You are such a handsome dude. XOXO Sparkle
A great family is the best thing in the world. I think I will be traveling a lot and going a lot of places with my family. Going in the car is always exciting because I never know where we will end up. Hope your mom comes back home soon.
If you wake up one day and Nelson is gone look for him in New York. Love that guy.
I will have to do well at my dog shows so I get invited to Westminster. Then I can come to NY and visit. Olivia’s dad was invited this year but he didn’t go because he hated being a show dog, silly guy!
You are doing so great little man!! We are so impressed with your hard work. Happy 7 months!!! your friends Chester and Lilly
Thank you. I do work hard at all kinds of things but I really love it and I get so many good treats.
You are amazing Nelson and we can tell how special you are. Happy 7 months! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Thank you. I am special just because I have so many opportunities and a family that loves me.
You’re so handsome, Nelson. You’re fitting in just fine. We knew you would.
Have a woof woof Thankful Thursday. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
I think I am the dog that was missing from the family dynamic. Now I am here and I love it.
Happy Birthday, Nelson!!! Zen’s 5-Month birthday was yesterday so you boys are pretty close in age. Back when hubby and I decided to adopt an adult Golden, I felt Ducky might do better with a male than a female. Unfortunately Radar’s new life (with us) didn’t last long enough; but the little amount of time we did have together was enough to convince me I was correct in my assumption.
Mom still finds it weird to have a boy but she has fallen for me head over heels and has no regrets.
Nelson, you are a gorgeous guy and will have lots of fun in your future. We like winter (at lease the winter we get in California) much better than summer.
Mom says I will love the cold and snow here. I probably will because my sisters love it too. I don’t remember much about last winter because I was way too young.
What a happy sweetie pie! Happy 7 months Nelson!
I am a super happy little guy.
So many deep thoughts! We think whatever you do in life, you will excel at it!!
Happy 7 months!

So far I am doing pretty well hitting my goals and having fun doing it. We will see if that continues.
Ah, young man, you are going to have a wonderful life, if your mama has any say in the matter!
So far it is really good, so I hope that continues.
Nelson, you are definitely going places! So fun to watch you grow up! LOVE this photo shoot!!!
Thank you.
WOW!! I think you weigh more than Levi and I think you are about the same height! Oh and I prefer males in ALL species lol!!!
Mom doesn’t know if you prefers males or not since Nelson is our first one. She will never have a male cat again, they have all been just terrible, but time will tell with dogs.
