We stopped at the Green Barn Sunflower Fields on the way to my FastCAT trials on Sunday. On Saturday we saw all the sunflowers fro the road, but the weather wasn’t very nice. Instead we decided to go early Sunday to beat the crowds and have better weather. These flowers are big, and so very beautiful!
They have an amazing set up for touring the fields. Since we took a lot of photos, we decided to post more of the flowers to day, and on Friday we will post more photos of us with their props and flowers. In Germany, Mom lived near lots of sunflower fields and found it to be normal. Here they are harder to find and more special.
These people are smart as they have a huge circle path with lines through it dividing it into five different areas. Each area blooms at a different time. Areas one and two are pretty much done at this point, three is the best area now, four is starting to bloom, and five is still not showing any real yellow flowers yet. They have signs all around explaining more about these amazing flowers. Did you know this about which direction they face?
Flowers in section four are starting to show some yellow now.
Mom climbed up on the viewing stand to take a photo of part of section three. Look at all these gorgeous, bright sunflowers!
All the flowers keep the pollinators busy. Bees abound in the rows of sunflowers.
The section that is in full bloom has all the props. They moved them from one section to the next as the stage of the flowers changes. Here they have some bright colored bikes which are kind of fun to find.
Mom was a bit nervous dropping Nelson’s leash for photos in the sunflower fields. He could take off and it would be nearly impossible to find him, but he was a very good boy and never tried to make a break for it! If you have a dog friendly place with sunflowers in your area, we suggest you take your pup and go visit. We had a lot of fun, and Friday you will see more of us and all the cool things we found to pose with/on.

We had no idea about sunflowers. It sure was a fun place to visit and Mom loved it too. The props they had were a lot of fun and we will have them on Friday.

They are pretty!

So, so many! It is amazingly beautiful.
We’ve had one farmer who has raised sunflowers for decades here, but he recently moved the flower field close to me. It’s a joy to drive by. No tours, though. It never occurred to me about tours. Aren’t sunflowers just mesmerizing? I could stay there all day.
It is a self tour place, so one can stop and look as long as you want. They are just beautiful.
Looks really pretty but not as pretty as you!
Pretty in a different way π
My mom is humming the song Strawberry Farms Forever but substituting Sunflower Fields Forever! It was way before my time, but Olivia and Nelson look so pawsome in those beautiful sunflower fields. XOXO Sparkle
It is really a beautiful place and they are very nice and dog friendly too.
what a happy place to be!
A super happy place!
I would have loved to visit you here. I love sunflowers and I would have been able to love on you. This post made me smile.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
The flowers made us all smile. Such a fun place to find by accident!
Great photos Nelson!
Thank you.
We have a field of sunflowers that the county plants every year.. it is a maze as well as a big field..
I think there are some that have mazes too, but most of these places are an hour or more from our house and not all are dog friendly. This was perfect being on the way to Bailie’s trials.
This is on our bucket list….We tried in California, but couldn’t find anything dog friendly…maybe that will change around here!
We don’t know what is going on with Blogger and visitor commenting lately…
xoxo,
Sunny
Some people are having trouble with our blog too lately. It is very frustrating but what can we do. Drive CeCe up here and you can see the sunflower fields π
That does look like such fun! Nelson, it’s good that you behaved, your mom will take you on more fun outings because you know what not to do.
Mom says I am a crap shoot. Sometimes I’m testing boundaries and other times I’m a perfect little guy.
All those sunflowers look amazing and you two do too!
It is sure a beautiful place to visit.
Wow, what a cool place to visit!
We recommend dog friendly sunflower fields. They are beautiful.
How pretty!
It was super pretty and all the fun things they have along the way add to the fun of the visit.
We also had a place with Sunflowers near us, not as big as yours, but very beautiful. They took it all down to build houses on it π You two look gorgeousπ» Pawkisses from Heaven to all of youπΎπ½β¨
Most of them are at least an hour drive from out house, out where there are not so many houses. One day this one will be houses too, most likely, but for now it is beautiful to visit.
