I turned eight months old on Sunday, the 18th, at Purina Farms in Gray Summit, Missouri. It was probably my last really special milestone because I got to celebrate with two of my brothers and one sister. Purina Farms is a pretty cool place to be as well!
My brother Grunge, sister Varah and I all reunited in Des Moines the previous week at the dog show. This last weekend another brother of mine who lives in Indiana, Sebastian, met us all at Purina for the dog show. Four of the eleven of us getting together is pretty special and we all get along like we have never been apart. We don’t have a photo of us all together because we always rough house and refuse to sit still for photos.
My siblings mom’s didn’t mention anything about us turning eight months old on Sunday, but of course, it is top on my mom’s mind. After the show on Saturday, we found a dog bakery and Olivia helped me pick out treats for everyone so we could celebrate on Sunday. Our family loves a good surprise, and it was definitely something no one ever thought of.
When you drive in to the Purina property, you drive straight at this sign. Mom was surprised as I was scared of it because I could see the dogs peaking over and they worried me. Never the less, I managed to get a half way decent photo.
Not far from the hall with the dog show, they have fenced play/exercise yards dogs can use. I enjoyed running a bit to burn off some energy. Showing is mentally tiring for me, but I still have physical energy I need to burn.
The main entrance to the event hall has two big and I mean really big dogs standing there. One, maybe a Labrador, is stacking. I am trying to self stack, but my feet are not quite right.
On the other side is a poodle. No matter what I do, I can’t look like a Poodle, so I decided to sit next to that one.
Down by the Visitor Center they have this playful dog. He is very friendly and there is no reason to be afraid, so I am alright with posing with the guy.
Just for fun I have this photo of me in the hall where all the show rings are. It is a very nice place. Mom and I both would love to go back again some day. They also do a lot of sports here, dock diving, agility, FastCAT, herding, and more.
My eight month birthday is a wrap. It sure was fun celebrating with some of my blood siblings and my fun sister Olivia! I can’t wait to see what the next month has in store for me! Life is all about new things for me it seems and I sure have a lot of fun!

Now that we go so some shows, we see all kinds of breeds we rarely see, or have never seen. It is quite interesting!

That store was amazing! They were baking treats and there were treats all over the place. The two of us went wild!

There was a huge food bowl with jumbo fake food in it but it was in the kids room and we could not get a moment without kids to take a photo. It is a very fun place for dogs.
I think it is so great that you got to see your siblings but really you have the best family to be a part of everyday.
I just have a bigger family when I see my brothers and sister. We all have our new lives but it is fun to hang out again together.

Mom always hears about Purina Farms, so she was super happy to get to go there finally. It is a very cool place, especially for dogs.
8 months sure goes quick when you’re growing up. My, what a grand way to spend such a special day. And what a day it must have been; so much to see do and sniff!

We were there three days in a row and we had a great time seeing everything and sniffing around.

It is fun hanging out with them. I guess it is like humans that are grown up visiting family.
Happy 8 months! I sure wish I could have gotten a ride out to watch you all in the show rings!!! I’m glad you surprised your siblings with treats. We love showing at Purina’s Event Center. We are planning to be there in November for the IBACA shows. They are very different from AKC shows; two shows a day, you are just judged by yourself, and you get a report card from each judge. Then if you get V1’s from each jugde, by the last show on Sunday, you will have your National and International title. You have to pay for it, but they print these level cetificates right at the show. Chablis got tons of titles from them, because he kept advancing and you also get to go in the ring with other hounds after your individual judging. then if you win your group, you get to go into BIS. Chablis won a lot and he got BIS pretty often too. You have lot of other activities, so you might not want, or have time to do, these kind of shows. But they are very relaxed and NOT timed (so the days can get long). A great place to practice showing. Just some food for thought.
The thing is, sports is our love and main thing, so we don’t want to spend too much time showing when we can do other things. We will see how we work it all out but I do want my AKC CH title.

Mom loves traveling and taking photos and we are all used to it, so it is normal for us.
That looks like a fun place to celebrate a birthday, Nelson, and how great to have some of your siblings there too! We thought you looked pretty good on that stacking!
I’m getting better at it. It is all awkward. This week we are taking a break and practicing sniffing for upcoming trials and that is so much more fun!

Mom loves getting us all as many life experiences as she can. We all enjoy the travel and seeing fun things.
Happy 8 months Nelson! Purina Farms is quite the place, our Dad has visited there before.
They are cat friendly too, but I bet most cats don’t want to travel so they don’t make it there.
