I got to go on a Halloween shopping trip with Mom yesterday. My sisters tell me Paul’s Market is dog friendly and Mom takes her pups there for holiday shopping every year. For me it is my first time and it was a bit overwhelming! So many pumpkins, so little time to pick one!
They say there is a pumpkin shortage this year, and I am happy about it. I can’t imagine the store having even more pumpkins! They are everywhere, even in these huge boxes.
As Mom and I wandered around the exterior, and then the greenhouse, a big Golden Retriever popped out and came over to me. Mom says he works at the greenhouse and is friendly. Luckily, I enjoy meeting dogs, so I was not too worried. I felt really small next to him. He gave me a good sniff over and then left to get back to his work patrolling the greenhouse.
We found the Indian Corn section. Wow, they have a lot of these tiny ears of colored corn. I enjoyed getting my nose into it checking for some interesting field and critter scents.
Mom is a girl, so a Halloween shopping trip wouldn’t be the same if she didn’t find some cute things. She didn’t want to buy anything, so she took some photos of things she liked. If you are creative, you too could make these milk jug decorations.
If you happen to have a small bale of straw, you can make this decoration with a bit of ribbon and a few other crafty items.
Last but not least we found this little cutie. It is a very friendly ghost decoration.
Back outside we found a ton more pumpkins lined up, waiting for a nice home. I kind of like pumpkin in my food, maybe we should buy extra pumpkins to eat?
On the way out, we stopped for a photo next to the infamous Pahl’s truck. I guess all of my sisters have posed with it in the past, even my legendary sister Emma. My turn needed to be special since I am the first boy, so I refused to sit and decided to stand for my photo. Are you taking your pup shopping for pumpkins, or is my mom just a bit odd?
My GBGV Life is happy, so weβre joining Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday!
oooh how great .. the mama found 5 things (or more) she urgently needs and what are super cute… it seems she s a girl too LOL
Girls and shopping…oh boy!
Thank you for showing me. I wish to be there
It is a really nice greenhouse.
We like shopping for pumpkins; our mom gets them to cook and eat! And we have all sorts of things with pumpkin – especially pumpkin pancakes and muffins!
Our mom doesn’t like the stringy feeling of pumpkin, but she does make pumpkin stuff for us sometimes.
What a SuperFun trip and oh, how we love love love pumpkins! We love all of your photos, Nelson but the last one is the bestest!
Oh, thank you. I can’t believe how many pumpkins they have and they say they have a shortage!
You were treated with a wonderful shopping experience. Some of our churches have pumpkin patches but no store like you have. XOXO Sparkle
How funny. No churches around here have pumpkin patches, just greenhouses. Different stuff in different parts of the country.
Wonderful! Looks like it was a great day!!!!! Mom loved the decorations too! your friends Lilly and Chester
If we had little kids around in the family, Mom would make the milk jug things.
I would have loved tagging along with you and mom, Nelson. You’re a handsome boy and what a fun place to explore.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
What a fun place. How many pumpkins did you buy b
I bought just one for Madison. You will see it tomorrow.
Well Nelson, your mom is NOT a little odd. She is WAY odd and we love her for it! Without her multitalents that she shares with us, our lives would be SO dull, and none of you would be famous! So be proud of her and enjoy the pumpkins! Standing makes a great shot ( and is good practice for stacking in the ring).
Mom is odd but we love her that way. Right now it is all back to sports. We don’t know when I will get back to showing because we need other GBGVs to make it worthwhile.
It looks like a fun day and you do look rather small next to the Retriever. That’s the way I look next to my grandchildren.
LOL, that is funny. I met my Gramma last weekend and she is pretty small too. Mom says she has shrunk a lot in the past few years.
Beautiful pumpkins everywhere … and you certainly complemented them!
My fur colors are good in the fall according to my mom.
that looks like it was a lot of fun! I don’t decorate for Halloween because we just have a condo (second floor), if I had a house with trick or treaters I would decorate for sure!
We don’t decorate much because Mom doesn’t want trick or treaters. It is a huge hassle and we all get howling and it turns into chaos, so it is something she doesn’t do anymore.
Nelson what a fun and gorgeous outing you and Mom had. Well done on meeting a very tall new friend. It certainly looks as if you passed the sniff test
Hugs Cecilia
He was very kind and just wanted to say hello, really.
Looks like you had a great time Nelson, we love the picture of you in front of the infamous truck!
xoxo,
Sunny and Rosy
They decorate it for every season mom says. It is sure fancy.
We love to shop for a pumpkin at a local non-profit.
We would not know where to go to do that around here. Usually they are either at garden stores or roadside stands in the countryside. Some businesses give out free ones to their clients too.
That does look like a fun place to browse around Nelson, I’ll bet the smells were really good too!
It was very interesting to sniff a lot of things there too.
Terrific adventure you got to go on Nelson. And you made a new furrend! That is awesome! Our Mom loves all the fall stuff that market has. We don’t have places like that close to here so now she wants to take a road trip! Purrs Marv
We are lucky to have good stores nearby where we live. Mom likes to be close to things in case she needs something.
