We had the first snow of the season on Friday morning. When it ended we had about an inch on the ground, but it still was a lot of fun to be out and play in it for a while. For Nelson, it is his first time playing in the snow, and he really loves it just like we all do. The two of us played together for a while, including some chase games.
The colored leaves in the snow are so pretty. The ones on the trees also look great with a touch of snow on them.
I think it is safe to say that Mom’s flowers on the deck are pretty much dead after the snow. They have been on the way out for a while, but they are real goners now. Still they are pretty to look at in the snow.
Back to me and Nelson having some snow fun. Nelson loves finding sticks, and I guess racing in the snow with a stick is even more fun than just in the grass.
He is good at amusing himself by tossing his stick, really a twig, in the air and trying to catch it. Someone needs to remind him that we are all terrible at catching things.
Running around seems to be Nelson’s favorite activity, though. It doesn’t matter if he is running after someone, being chased, or just running around by himself.
I enjoy being chased, and Nelson is quite happy to chase after me. He is fast, so I have to watch out or he will capture me!
Sometimes we stop for a break, but Nelson wants to keep playing. He starts jumping around, trying to get me to move so he can chase me some more.
I have to say, he has some fancy footwork going on. Snow does not slow this young man down at all!
Nelson takes off again at full speed. He is a very long guy, especially when he stretches himself out like he is when he runs.
Hope you enjoyed our few shots of the first snow of the season. We are all ready for winter and have our paws crossed for lots of cold and a ton of snow over a long winter.

oh my!… wow for da furst snow… so you will get a white howloween this year?
This time of year, snow doesn’t usually stick around, so who knows what will be happening on Halloween. It might be warm again next weekend, but the ups and downs are normal.
Lovely to look at pictures! We don’t have snow here, although we could drive to the mountains when that area gets some snow.
Mom lived in Tucson for a year and she drove up into the mountains often in the winter because she missed the cold and snow.
I know you all love the snow. The fun begins. So cute you are too.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. β₯
Oh yes, this is just a taste of the fun. Hopefully we will get some big storms so we have a lot of the white stuff to play in.
Nothing is prettier than the snow and leaves together. Have fun!
It was the prettiest on the red leaves but we didn’t have any red leaves in our yard yet.
Love those pictures. Canβt wait t see Nelson in a big snow v
We are excited for him to see it too. I’m sure he will dive right in and love it like we do.
I se your little brother is worming his way into your heart, Madison! Great shots!
Yes he is. I do have fun with him now that he isn’t such a baby, but I still like to teach him stuff and boss him around.
Madison and Nelson…OMDs you got snow!! It certainly looks like you two will be excellent Snow buddies.
Nelson that twig made me giggle
My next door neighbor’s granddog, Baker the golden retriever, comes to stay with sometimes. Baker cracks me us when they are taking a walk Baker has about 1/2 of the leash length in his mouth. Not sure who is in charge of whom
Hugs cecilia
We try that when we are young puppies but Mom makes it clear that we are not allowed to have our leash in our mouth. As long as Baker doesn’t chew on it, no problem.
Keep it there please!! There is a chance we may get a bit of that tonight and I’m hoping they are wrong!
I hope the snow arrives here too, soon. Now it just rains.
Rain is no fun. Snow is a lot of fun.
Oh boy!! We bet lots and lots of zoomies were in order after it snowed. I love the snow, and can’t wait until we get our first dose of then white stuff….although that probably won’t be until December or January.
Enjoy your snow day!
xoxo,
Rosy
We hope we get an early winter this year with a lot of snow. Winter is a great season!
There is no doubt about it, you were sure having some fun snow hound romping going on and just wait until you get a really big snow!
We are hoping to get a nice big storm early this year.
That looks like you both had a blast! May you have a good, heavy, snowy winter.
Thank you. We have our paws crossed for a pawsome winter.
you guys looked like you had some fun times. got a lot of exercise in plus fun in the snow. now you just have to teach Nelson how to make snowballs, so it can be 2 against 2 in a snowball fight.
We will show him how to make a snowman with snowballs. Mom might make some for him to chase too.
I knew the moment I saw the headline that it would be Nelson’s “first” and couldn’t wait to see your photos: all just
delightful! And especially good with this light dusting of now, autumn leaves still peeking through … and the pups own coloring ~ wow, makes for some really terrific pictures! Of course, Nelson’s playfulness and enthusiasm is
just plain fun to see!

We recognize zoolatry anything, no worries there! We are looking forward to our first really good snow. That will be super fun. Thank you for coming by π
Holy cow, snow already, eh? Guess that time is just around the corner (if we’re lucky) π€πΌ
It was a teaser for a few hours. It never sticks until after Thanksgiving usually.
I love the photos – they made me smile.
Thank you. We had some fun and it makes our mom happy too.
