An apple a day they say keeps the doctor away, but it seems to also be good for puppies. We all eat some apple pieces a few times a week and love them. Now our little brother Nelson is nine months old and is big and healthy! He is a keeper, thus the pose with the Keepsake apple sign.
Mom took Nelson to the Applewood Orchard for his nine month photo shoot. It’s fall and apples are bright and cheery for photos. The drought has made the apple trees a bit dried out, but they still look good with apples on them. Nelson found it a fun place to sniff around too.
The orchard has wagons for pulling kids or apples around but Nelson didn’t want to ride. He is fine with taking a photo, though. He likes the blue one the best because he says blue is for boys.
Some rows of apple trees have been picked bare, and others have a lot of apples still hanging as well as laying on the ground. Mom is trying to get Nelson to stand still rather than sit because of being a show dog. He always wants to sit, but he did stand for a few photos when asked.
Honeycrisps are a popular apple we hear. Mom doesn’t like them, but most people love them. Being a good boy, Nelson looked but didn’t bite into any apples.
At first he did check out one of the fallen apples but only with sniffing. Since apple seeds are not good for dogs, Mom is happy he didn’t bite into any apples.
They have tractors to take people on rides in wagons but they are not used during the weekdays. It seems like they have a lot of different types of apples one can pick too.
By the exit, they have some really big pumpkins. Nelson is smart and brought his Halloween bow tie along for the photo shoot. He did a shot with the jumbo pumpkins and his ghost/pumpkin tie. Brother, you are looking sharp at nine months old. We girls seem to have a good influence on you and fashion, LOL!
It is amazing how fast our baby brother is turning into a real hound. He weighs a ton, Mom can barely pick him up, but he is solid, not overweight. Hope you enjoyed his nine month photo shoot, he had fun doing it at the orchard. It seems like I should be a lot older in one way, but then it seems like I should still be much more puppyish. I’m happy with where I’m at, and that is what matters.
Hard to believe you are 9 months old, growing up way too fast. I like the wagon as well. I am not a fan of Honeycrisp apples either, too sweet. You mom could have brought home that Great Pumpkin, put it in the cart with you and take to the car. Did you ask?
She just doesn’t really want pumpkins around because she says they are just something she has to toss out in a few weeks. Same reason she doesn’t buy fall mums usually I hear. Mom likes things that last, like me 🙂
That looks like a wonderful place to visit and sample all sorts of apples. You are growing very fast Nelson!
Mom says I act like an old man a lot but then I get out my wild pants and that all changes!
Happy Happy 9 months Nelson. If apples made me as handsome as they are making you I’d eat them 24 hours a day. We love honey crisp apples.

Mom says I’m an old man in a puppy body. I’m a really good boy almost all the time which makes Mom happy. She is waiting for that to change, so we will see.

Thank you. Mom says I’m one huge dude these days. She can barely carry me because I am so long and heavy. I’m fit as a fiddle, so it is all just muscle and stuff.

Mom eats one a day and sometimes she shares with us or just cuts one up and puts it in with our food. The orchard was a fun place to visit and sniff around.
Happy 9 Months Nelson! We used to give Dakota pieces of apple ALL of the time and he was sooo much smaller than Levi who has yet to have any apples. We need to give Levi some but we are trying not to give him much people food since he is a “pushier” type of a dog than Dakota was.
We are not too pushy about things but Mom usually chops the apple and puts it in with our food so we don’t get it from her hands.
I think the last comment says it all! Mr Nelson, YOU are the cat’s pajamas!!! We look forward to your futrue accomplishments and very much enjoy your present “presence”!
I can’t wait to do some more sports because it is really irritating sitting in the car when my sisters compete and I can’t. I have some things coming up and then when I am one, I can do it all if I want to.
